Everyone’s journey is different, but here’s what a typical opioid recovery timeline might look like when combining medication, counseling, and support-

In early recovery, progress can feel slow. Just getting through the day, adjusting to treatment, and finding your footing is progress.

As the weeks go on, things begin to shift. Cravings ease, sleep improves, and routines become more manageable. Your body and mind start to heal.

Months in, you may notice stronger coping skills, better relationships, and quiet moments of confidence. These small wins add up.

By a year, your life often begins to reflect your hard work. Goals feel clearer. Setbacks don’t hit as hard. You start to feel like you again—more grounded, more whole.

✨ Recovery isn’t a straight line, and it’s not about doing it fast. It’s about showing up, being supported, and celebrating every step forward. Even the quiet ones.

🔍 MYTH: “You can’t recover unless you go to inpatient rehab.”
✅ FACT: Our Intensive Outpatient and Outpatient programs offer flexibility for people balancing recovery with work, family, and school.

🔍 MYTH: “Group therapy is just people sitting around complaining.”
✅ FACT: Group sessions provide connection, support, and shared insight. You’re not alone—and that matters.

🔍 MYTH: “Once you get a DUI, your life is over.”

At Veni Vidi Vici Treatment Services, we understand that recovery is more than abstaining—it’s about rebuilding a foundation for a fulfilled life.

Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs reminds us that healing begins with meeting basic physiological and safety needs. In early recovery, stabilizing housing, health, and nutrition becomes essential. But as individuals progress, emotional support, connection, and self-worth must be nurtured too.

Our person-centered approach supports each level of this journey—empowering individuals to rise from survival to self-actualization.

Because recovery isn’t just possible—it’s a path to purpose.

We bid a heartfelt farewell to Dr. Joseph A. Adams, whose dedication to addiction medicine and compassionate patient care has profoundly impacted our clinic and the lives of those we serve.

Since 2003, Dr. Adams has been a leader in opioid treatment programs, advocating for patient rights, harm reduction, and accessible care. His commitment to trauma-informed treatment and public policy reform has helped shape addiction medicine in Maryland and beyond.

In the photo, Dr. Adams stands alongside Ekaterina Versace, Medical Provider (left), and Anastasia O’Brien, Program Director (right)—two colleagues who have worked closely with him in providing exceptional patient care.

Dr. Adams’ expertise, advocacy, and kindness will be greatly missed. We wish him all the best in his next chapter!

Thank you, Dr. Adams, for your years of service and unwavering dedication. 💜

For years, communities across Maryland have been fighting the overdose crisis, and recent data shows real progress. In 2024, fatal overdoses dropped by 38%—the most significant decline in nearly a decade. This milestone reflects the power of investment in behavioral health, expanded access to care, harm reduction strategies, and the dedication of healthcare providers, community organizations, and first responders.

However, while this progress is worth celebrating, the fight isn’t over. At Veni Vidi Vici Treatment Services, we believe everyone deserves quality addiction treatment—no matter their background, circumstances, or past struggles. If you or a loved one is battling substance use, help is available. Reach out to us at (443) 819-3172 or visit vvvtxs.com to learn more about our person-centered approach to recovery.
