National Association for Children of Addiction

National Association for Children of Addiction Using our network of the most respected experts in the field, NACoA provides solutions to address these impacts effectively.

NACoA envisions a world in which no child who struggles because of family addiction will be left unsupported. NACoA gives those who touch children’s lives daily the training and tools needed to help them see the pain and confusion of struggling children and respond appropriately both systemically in their professions and personally with understanding hearts. In a word, our programs give a voice to

impacted children who suffer in silence each day:
-Celebrating Families! ™, an evidence-based, trauma-informed, skill building program of 16 sessions serving the whole family: children ages birth-18, their parents & caregivers. Versions also available to support Hispanic & Native American families.
-Children's Program Kit, a comprehensive tool kit enabling implementation and ongoing managing of a complete children’s educational support program in schools, at treatment facilities, afterschool programs, weekend camps and summer day camps, or at religious institutions.
-The Clergy Education and Training Project®, developed in collaboration with major national faith organizations, it provides education and tools to help faith communities understand and address addiction and its devastating impact on families and children effectively.

We urge communities to pay attention, take action, and protect the next generation from long-term harm.

As communities navigate the evolving landscape of cannabis legalization, emerging research underscores a pressing concern: the impact of cannabis retail availability on adolescent mental health. A recent study by Kaiser Permanente reveals that local policies prohibiting cannabis storefronts are asso...

We are overwhelmed with gratitude for so many who have taken part in the Brick By Brick: Building Hope LEGO Challenge campaign. Special thanks goes to the heart and creativity of Keith Harmon, a father from Pennsylvania who envisioned the LEGO Challenge and took it one step further with a 48-hour live-streamed LEGO build-a-thon. The LEGO campaign remains open through Saturday, August 2—there’s still time to take part in a video challenge or make a donation!

Dear Friends, We are overwhelmed with gratitude. Since the launch of the NACoA Brick By Brick: Building Hope LEGO Challenge campaign on July 20, we have raised over $45,000 to support children impacted by parental substance use disorders—the 1 in 4 children in the United States who too often suffe...
