If your skin isn’t improving… this is probably why.
It’s not because your skin is “stubborn.” It’s because something in your routine or treatments isn’t aligned with what your skin actually needs.

1️⃣ You’re inconsistent.
You can’t treat your skin like a gym membership you remember twice a month. Using your actives “when you remember” or skipping SPF on the weekends? Your skin will stay exactly where it is. Consistency > the “perfect routine.”

2️⃣ You’re using the wrong products.
Examples:
• Over-exfoliating when your barrier is already compromised
• Heavy occlusives on acne-prone skin
• Brightening serums when your pigment is actually dermal
Your skin type + your skin history = your routine. Not TikTok.

3️⃣ You’re treating symptoms, not the cause. Breakouts, redness, texture, pigment…They’re not the problem—
they’re the message. You can’t fix acne scars while still breaking out.
You can’t treat melasma while constantly triggering heat without a cooldown plan. Chase the cause, not just the symptoms.

4️⃣ You’re spacing treatments too far apart.
Corrective treatments work in series and phases. Not once every few months. Your collagen has a short memory. If you wait too long between sessions, fibroblasts shut down and momentum disappears.

Our journey

Under the direction of Lisa K. Feulner, M.D., PH.D., Advanced Aesthetics & Med Spa, has been offering cutting edge services in the Bel Air community since 2007. In early-2016 Izzy Cameron joined the practice as Manager, and Donna Cook BSN, R.N. , joined as our full time Advanced Nurse Injector. Carole Hawkins R.N., also an Advanced Nurse Injector has been providing Aesthetic services on a part time basis since 2015. In March 2017 we moved into our new office on Plumtree Road, offering our patients a beautiful new state of the art office, adding even more services to our clients. In early 2018 Jenna Williams, licensed Esthetician, will began providing even more facial services to our patients.
