NEW CPRS REQUIREMENTS -

EFFECTIVE September 1, 2025

In April 2025, IC&RC identified that there would be changes to the requirements for the Peer Recovery Credential.

Effective July 3, 2025, IC&RC launched the inclusion of Harm Reduction into the Domain process for the Peer Recovery Examination.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR THE MARYLAND CREDENTIAL
TRAINING HOURS - There will be a new requirement of 4 additional training hours required in the Harm Reduction Domain for Peer Recovery Specialist.

Instead of 46 hours of training and education, all CPRS applicants will be required to complete 50 Domain hours of training.

SUPERVISION HOURS - There will be an additional 5 hours of Peer Supervision for the Harm Reduction Domain.

Instead of 25 hours of Peer Supervision, the requirement will not be a total of 30 Peer Supervision hours.

This will apply to all applications submitted AFTER September 1, 2025.

We are delighted to announce that the fatherhood graduation ceremony was held over the weekend. The dedication and perseverance of these men in their personal growth and development is truly commendable. Parenting is a lifelong learning experience that requires adaptability and resilience. Congratulations to these outstanding individuals! We cherish our partnership with Fathers Forward, LLC and the Charles County Department of Social Services for making this happen year after year. We are so excited to announce that Danyelle R. has passed her CPRS exam and will be a Certified Peer Support Specialist. She has completed the Jude House Peer Support Training Program and will continue providing recovery support and service to individuals in need.

We are thrilled to announce that our 2nd Annual Car Show was a remarkable success, providing an entertaining experience as always. The event featured an impressive collection of cars, and we eagerly await the opportunity to reunite with everyone next year, along with your friends! Shout out to the LBHA, Health Department, and Comeback Care Recovery for representing their services at the event. Another hot one, but fortunately, the rain held off. Huge shout out to Mrs. Posey and Erica for putting this event together and to all our judges for putting time and dedication in.

The Jude House's family day and alumni event at the ballpark was a resounding success, offering a delightful experience with great food, kid-friendly activities, and an electrifying baseball game between residents, alumni, and staff on one team and the Maryland Transportation Authority Police and the La Plata Police Department on the other. While the officers claimed victory, The Jude House is eager to challenge them again. The clear skies and scorching heat did not deter the enthusiasm of the attendees. Family support and community are vital to the recovery process. We thank all participants and volunteers for their time and support.
