Last night we gathered together to celebrate the holiday season, reflect on the year behind us, and look ahead with intention for the one to come.

One of the most meaningful moments included candle-lighting. Each of us lit a candle and named a new way we hope to show up for our families in the coming year... honoring the growth we’ve experienced and the light we’re choosing to carry forward.

It was paired with this message from Hannah:
"Light as a doula isn’t about brightness or perfection. We each hold a different kind of light; sometimes it's gentle, sometimes it's fierce... grounding... joyful... warm... or just a steady presence... Often, it becomes the calm glow our families can look toward when everything feels intense or overwhelming. And when we come together, our collective glow becomes a source of strength for our whole community."

We're entering this holiday season and end of year feeling even more grateful for this team, this work, and goals we’re setting for this new year!

With the recent cuts to SNAP benefits, many families in our community are feeling the impact. We want to create a space here to support one another.

If you know of local food pantries, meal programs, community fridges, mutual aid groups, or other helpful resources, please share them in the comments below!

And if you’re in a position to give, whether that’s donating food, funds, or time, we encourage you to reach out to these local organizations. Every bit of support helps strengthen our community.

Together, we can help our neighbors find the nourishment and care they deserve.

We are so thankful for this!!

✨ Big news for birth support in Grand Rapids! ✨

After many years of advocacy, Butterworth Hospital is once again welcoming doulas into the OR to support clients during cesarean births starting in February 2026! 💛

We’re overjoyed that families will now have continuous doula support from labor, through surgery, and into recovery. Every birth deserves compassionate, familiar care, and this change means we can continue walking alongside our clients even when their journey takes a little side quest.

This is a huge win for birth equity, emotional safety, and the beautiful work of continuity of care. 💫

We are taking the time to honor and remember the tiny lives that left footprints on our hearts. Whether through miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss, the grief is real, the love is eternal, and the memories are sacred.

We will be on our stories, lighting a candle at 7 PM for the Wave of Light to remember and honor every precious life lost too soon.

October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month

It’s estimated that 1 in 4 women will experience pregnancy or infant loss in their lifetime. That means 1 in 4 families (partners, grandparents, siblings, loved ones) carry the weight of a loss that’s often invisible to the world.

But behind every number is a name, a story, a heartbeat that was loved beyond measure.

This month, we are taking the time to pause and honor the babies who didn’t get to stay, and the families who carry their memory every day.

You are not alone. Your loss matters. Your baby matters.
