Sometimes I wonder if I’ll ever be able to take my fur babies for a ride again. It’s so hard seeing them suffer right along side of me. They didn’t do anything wrong. Above all else I would like to achieve this goal to be able to let my fur babies enjoy a ride again.

I so badly want to be able to regain at least partial mobility and partial independence. I can’t do this alone. I am praying every day that some people out there will feel the push to help in their hearts.

Down payment needed: $18,000
Amount fundraiser as of 2/9/23: $10,120 from family

Needed: $7,880

We were able to get APPROVED to buy a wheelchair van. A critically needed vehicle that would allow my world to expand again outside of these four walls of my home.

But we needed $18,000 as a down payment on the $63,000 vehicle because it’s considered a specialty medical vehicle.

We have been able to raise $10,120 of the needed money, but we are $7,880 short. And that’s where I need your help.

We are so blessed that I pulled through my situation. I died multiple times during both surgeries from hemorrhagic shock. And I am so so thankful to the Lord to be alive.

I am a very humble person. I’ve spent my whole life helping others and get I feel a little ashamed to ask for this help.

Without it, I fear my depression will get worse.
What if one of my fur babies gets sick and needs to be put to sled at the vet? I won’t be able to be there with them. This absolutely TERRIFIES me to death!

Please, if you have read this far, and if you can help even with a dollar, I would so greatly appreciate it.

I am willing and able to pay for $45,000 of my vehicle with my own car loan. But I am having a hard time raising the last few dollars needed for the down payment.

I realized I needed help. For truly the first time in my life, I truly needed help. And a lot.

Thankfully I was able to get home health nurses and a full time caregiver CNA. I am no longer able to get into my bathroom or use my shower. I need help with every single aspect of my daily life.

One part that is truly missing, is the ability to go places. Even to the grocery store. I am able to get rides on the public transportation van to go to and from my medical appointments, of which there are MANY, but those services will not transport me anywhere else.

I cannot go shopping. No cannot go get a haircut. I cannot take my two little chihuahuas to the dog park or to a forested path for a walk.

We had to spend our own money out of pocket for a hospital bed for me to use at home because my insurance would only get a manual hand crank bed which wouldn’t accommodate my ability to reposition myself. We had to spend our own money on a power wheelchair because I couldn’t get in to see the wheelchair clinic for many months.

And we had to figure out a way to transport me anywhere else I needed to go. Or wanted to go.

When you go from being able to walk, drive, be mobile and get around, to being bed bound, wheelchair bound and confined to your home with the exception of going to medical appointments, your whole world truly shrinks and it greatly negatively impacts your mental health. It sure did mine.

I started to become depressed and very upset. I started to realize that there were so many things I may never be able to do again.

When you start to make those realizations they triply hit you HARD. And FAST. ❤️

In 2022,on May 22, 2022, my life changed forever when I discovered a large diabetic ulcer on my left foot. This ulcer had infected my entire foot down to my heel bone.

The doctors operated, removed my entire heel, and I spent two months in a rehab with a wound vac trying to get my foot to heal. It wouldn’t.

I then spent another 6 weeks at home trying to get things to heal with the help of a home health nurse. It still wouldn’t heal.

On September 1, 2022, on the brink of sepsis, I had to have my left leg amputated.

Two weeks later, still in the hospital, I had to have my leg additionally amputated because it became infected.

I ended up spending a full month in the hospital healing. At this point I was unable to walk anymore, or even stand. This is where my life truly shrank and I was only able to live within four walls and Sonny get medical rides to doctor appointments.
