Biofield therapies, including the Japanese healing art of Reiki, are non-invasive, holistic healing modalities which honor and work with a person’s physical, mental, emotional and spiritual nature. These healing energy therapies have been shown to improve the results of some medical treatments, acting to reduce negative side effects, shorten healing time and reduce or eliminate pain. Furthermore, these therapies have been shown to reduce stress, decrease anxiety, reduce PTSD symptoms, alleviate depression and help create optimism.*
Many medical centers, cancer treatment centers and hospice care organizations now offer Reiki and other bio-field therapies as part of—or a complement to—mainstream care.
Energy healing and Reiki (or “hands-on healing”) has ancient roots, and can also be understood through the cutting-edge sciences of quantum physics, cardio-neurology and epigenetics. Specifically, the practitioner uses their mind-body as an instrument of consciousness to transmit life-force energy to the body of the receiver. “Reiki” means “universal life force energy.” It is this energy that is transferred, through the palms of the practitioner to the patient, in order to facilitate healing and well-being on a mental, emotional and/or physical level.
We all have an “inner physician”—our body’s natural healing wisdom. Just as the body can heal a skinned knee without assistance, the body has the potential to heal so much more. During Reiki we enter meditative state, moving aside thoughts and daily concerns and rest in an amplified energy state that facilitates the body’s healing.
There is truly nothing to do to prepare for your session, however, placing yourself in receiving mode is very useful. “I receive, allow and release,” is a great feeling, affirmation or mantra to practice in anticipation of your session. Throughout the session you may remain silent or chat at any time. You will be fully clothed and can lay on the table, floor or sit in a chair. You are free free to adjust your position at any time.
Your personal intention is incredibly powerful. It is not necessary, but helpful, if you come with a clear intention for your session. You can hold this in mind or share it aloud.
About meditation…
Meditation is a time-honored practice of calming the mind, expanding awareness and altering consciousness. Meditation is practiced for numerous health benefits, and to develop a powerful awareness of our inner, eternal being. Quieting the mind provides a direct, conscious, expansive connection to peace and can lead to a greater awareness of the connectedness and unity of all-that-is.
Various forms of meditation are found in virtually every culture. Diana offers instruction for different forms of meditation—standing, walking, sitting, subtle energy, and yoga nidra. She works with individuals, couples or groups to find a practice which will work with an individual’s lifestyle, time limitations, state-of-health and personal objectives.
Diana teaches about the human energy field and guides yoga nidra, a sleep-based meditation that is naturally easy for most beginners. Known as “divine sleep,” yoga nidra is both a practice and a state of being that promotes relaxation, heart-brain coherence breathwork, and helps expand concentration skills, lighting the path to expanding awareness of the energy in and around the body.
Diana accepts appointments and welcomes new clients. When making an appointment please indicate if you would like to allow 1 hour ($65) or 1.5 hours ($90.) Mobile table services available (healing in your home or hospital visits.) Cash and checks accepted, with all major credit or debit cards accepted with $2 processing fee.
