Sweet Sobriety is partnering with Vanessa Kredler for a workshop in March!
BEFRIENDING YOUR INNER CRITIC WITH INTERNAL FAMILY SYSTEMS
When we’re struggling with food, eating, and body concerns, we often find a loud inner critic inside of us. Inner critics can be relentless and persistent in demanding improvement, perfection, and action. Their high expectations lead to a lot of internal conflict and feelings of anxiety, anger, shame, and a sense of worthlessness. That’s why we hear so much advice on how to ‘silence’, ‘beat’, ‘conquer’ or ‘fight’ your inner critic’! But what happens if we try to befriend our inner critic? What would it be like to change our relationship with it so that it could become our ally? In three live experiential sessions, you will learn about your inner critic through the lens of Internal Family Systems (IFS), a compassionate and curious form of psychotherapy, which has been used to support people struggling with food and eating and body image concerns since the 1980s and has gained a lot of attention in recent years.
What you’ll get:
☑️3 x 75-minute live sessions including education and guided practice
☑️Opportunity to share your experience with group members
☑️Suggestions for creative homeplay in between sessions
☑️Recordings of the sessions if you couldn't join live
☑️Downloadable slides
What you’ll learn:
☑️Gain a basic understanding of Internal Family Systems (IFS)
☑️Learn about why inner critics exist
☑️Experience what it’s like to get in touch with your inner critic
☑️Learn basic techniques of how to meet and dialogue with your inner critic
☑️Gain a pathway towards transforming your relationship with your inner critic
