Happy Deaf Awareness Month! 🤟🌹🌟

As an audiologist, I spend every day working with the incredible spectrum of hearing, from those with perfect hearing to the Deaf, Deaf-Blind, and Hard of Hearing communities.

This month is a vital opportunity to listen, learn, and celebrate. It's about more than just hearing health; it's about honoring Deaf culture, promoting American Sign Language (ASL), and advocating for accessibility and inclusion.

My role is to help people on their hearing journey, whether that's through a diagnosis, finding the right technology, or simply providing education. But more importantly, it's about listening to the patient and understanding their communication needs.

This month, I encourage you to do the same: listen to and learn from the Deaf community. Support their businesses, advocate for their rights, and remember that hearing is just one way of experiencing the world.

To the entire Deaf, Deaf-Blind, and Hard of Hearing community, thank you for teaching me and for your powerful advocacy.
