Life can be hard...
I married in 1985, went to Harding Graduate School in 1986 to become a preacher. Instead I spent the next 30 years (starting in 1990) as an actuary (numbers person), had 2 children, lost my grand parents, lost my mom to a car wreck (1988), went back to study counseling (2012), lost my dad to pulmonary fibrosis (2013), graduated with my MFT (2015) and began working at AGAPE (also 2015), got divorced (2016), opened my private practice (2019) and left my actuary job (2020) to pursue counseling full time.
It has been a wild ride full of ups and downs. I am currently blessed with many good friends, a wonderful dance instructor (Brenna Joy), a great massage therapist (Beverly Bain) and wonderful roommates (Joash and Su-Chen), not to mention a very special dog, Chaucy.
I’ve learned a lot through experience and through study. It is my hope that I can help others avoid some of my mistakes and perhaps learn to heal from there own and/or from trauma which was was not of their own making. Put more good energy into the world than bad and be willing to accept good energy from others. Be grateful. That is everything I try to do. Be blessed and let me know if I can help you on your journey. - Alan
