Congratulations to the 2025 TexasMedRun Highest Fundraising Team, the Casa Conquerors, and their captain, Dr. Anees Fatima.

Dr. Fatima rallied her team together and raised $730.00 in support of the 2025 TexasMedRun and the Harris Health Heart Health Initiative.

The HCHD Foundation thanks the Casa Conquerors for their support and hopes everyone enjoyed their lunch!

The Harris County Hospital District Foundation (HCHD Foundation) was proud to support and attend the 17th Annual Have a H.E.A.R.T. Luncheon, hosted by The HEART Program at the Hilton Americas Houston on Thursday, May 29, 2025.

In attendance included: HCHD Foundation Trustees, Mrs. Wanda LeBlanc, Dr. Peggy Smith, Mrs. Jennifer Tijerina, and Ms. Beth Young, HCHD Foundation Staff, Ms. Carolyn Amos and Ms. Veronica Washington, and Foundation Guest, Ms. Thalia Leal.

This year’s event honored not only the H.E.A.R.T. Program Trainee MVPs, but also our very own Chairwoman, Mrs. Kristin Garcia Blomquist, for her commitment to service and advocacy.

Whether she’s leading at work, volunteering with a local non-profit, or showing up for her beautiful family and our community – Kristin leads with compassion, conviction, and integrity.” – Harris County Commissioner Lesly Briones

The H.E.A.R.T. Program is an initiative that empowers adults with developmental disabilities through education, job training, and employment opportunities.

The Harris County Hospital District Foundation will be closing out Trauma Awareness Month (May) by proudly hosting and sponsoring the 2025 Harris Health Trauma Survivors Celebration Dinner on Friday, May 30th at Hotel Zaza in the Museum District.

This celebration seeks to draw inspiration from and provide support to survivors of traumatic injuries, their caregivers, and celebrate their recovery from trauma.

The HCHD Foundation Board of Trustees were invited to the dedication of Elvin Franklin, Jr., a long standing HCHDF board member, at Linear Art Park on January 16th by the North Houston Development Corp for his Service to this Community.

In attendance from the HCHD Foundation Board and staff – Mr. Theo Franklin, Messes. Marianne Fanning and Carolyn Amos.

The Harris County Hospital District Foundation (HCHD Foundation) joined Harris County’s Precinct 4 and the Baylor College of Medicine for a celebratory ribbon-cutting ceremony debuting their Teen Clinic on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Bayland Community Center.

The event featured speeches proudly given from prominent figures including:
Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner, Lesley Briones;
President of Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Paul Klotman;
CEO of the Baylor Teen Health Clinic system and HCHD Foundation Trustee, Dr. Peggy Smith; Executive Vice President and Dean of Clinical Affairs, Dr. James McDeavitt; and
Senator Molly Cook of District 15

The Foundation is a proud donor of the Teen Clinic through the HCHD Foundation Children’s Health Fund, where $100,000.00 was granted to Precint4Forward, the 501 (c)(3) non-profit of Precinct 4. These funds will be used to provide free evidence-based psychotherapy/counseling to eligible patients, ages 13-24, screened for depression and/or anxiety.

The Harris County Hospital District Foundation (HCHD Foundation) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Mrs. Kristin Blomquist as our new, and FIRST Chairwoman of the Board!

Mrs. Blomquist looks forward leading the HCHD Foundation into this exciting new chapter, and working hand in hand with the Board of Trustees and Foundation staff to further our mission – to enhance the broad healthcare mission of the Harris Health System by soliciting and raising funds for programs, and increasing the community’s awareness of the Harris Health System.
