DECONTAMINATION OF SURFACES WITH CORONAVIRUS
A few years ago, I posted information about remediation of mold on surfaces and water damaged building structures with an agent known as Decon7. I have recommended the product to my patients over the years for it's use in mold remediation. Remediation specialists that treat my patient’s homes are asked to utilize it in their protocols.
However, Decon7 was initially developed by Sandia National Laboratories for the Department of Defense to aid in the mitigation and decontamination of CBW (Chemical and Biological Warfare) Agents. The 2-component mixture destroys bacteria, viruses, mold and their respective mycotoxins. The first component dissolves and/or penetrates interfering organic materials and biofilm followed by the cell membrane or walls of bacteria, and coats of viruses and spores. The second component is a reactive molecule from Hydrogen Peroxide which destroys the pathogen. It is highly effective against the SARS Coronavirus. It can be dispersed as a stable foam, fog or mist. Wetting a microfiber towels and wiping surfaces, touch points (door k***s, hand rails, etc.) where bacteria or viruses likely reside is effective. It can be used safely in a washer as some of my patients have done. It can quickly kill or inactivate bacteria or viruses either in the air, surfaces as well in soil, organic material, and bodily fluids which inactivate other disinfectants. It is relatively non-toxic compared to other disinfectants and now available commercially to consumers. In working for the Department of Defense, I became familiar with the agent and its usage. Decon7 is currently used in large volumes to disinfect medical facilities, factories and in China as well as quarantine areas and vehicles in other countries impacted by the virus outbreak.
I hesitate to put the name of any brand or company on my site and have no vested interest in the company. However, there is simply no other agent with these properties. This company has been there for my patients and their families. They sell Decon7 at several sites which my patients have used. Please just call the company and find out whether the company or distributor could ship it. I have included information regarding development and initial usage by Sandia Labs as well as the technical report of its testing against the SARS Coronavirus.
