For those of you that have asked me the directions for the use of Decon7 for applications such as cleaning objects, doing laundry and various other uses the information from the Decon7 site. I have a pdf file with their information but cannot upload it to Facebook for some reason. I have asked the company to put it on their site. They were happy to do so.
When you access the link, they may ask for your email address. They will send you their product offerings. I was given an assurance that will not share your address with anyone. This is a company that has helped my patients for years.
I trust them with my patients. It is run by highly trained veterans who are experienced in its use and the scientist who invented this material at Sandia Labs. The information for it’s use and application can be accessed by the link below:

They have updated their Facebook site and will be placing information on it.

I hope that helps.

The first picture is to illustrate that coronaviruses in general will linger on surfaces without a host. It does not include COVID-19 specifically. A study published in the March 17, 2020 issue in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) illustrates the comparison the half-lives of the different SARS coronaviruses. SARS-CoV-1 and SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19). SARS-CoV-2 =COVID-19

DECONTAMINATION OF SURFACES WITH CORONAVIRUS

A few years ago, I posted information about remediation of mold on surfaces and water damaged building structures with an agent known as Decon7. I have recommended the product to my patients over the years for it's use in mold remediation. Remediation specialists that treat my patient’s homes are asked to utilize it in their protocols.

However, Decon7 was initially developed by Sandia National Laboratories for the Department of Defense to aid in the mitigation and decontamination of CBW (Chemical and Biological Warfare) Agents. The 2-component mixture destroys bacteria, viruses, mold and their respective mycotoxins. The first component dissolves and/or penetrates interfering organic materials and biofilm followed by the cell membrane or walls of bacteria, and coats of viruses and spores. The second component is a reactive molecule from Hydrogen Peroxide which destroys the pathogen. It is highly effective against the SARS Coronavirus. It can be dispersed as a stable foam, fog or mist. Wetting a microfiber towels and wiping surfaces, touch points (door k***s, hand rails, etc.) where bacteria or viruses likely reside is effective. It can be used safely in a washer as some of my patients have done. It can quickly kill or inactivate bacteria or viruses either in the air, surfaces as well in soil, organic material, and bodily fluids which inactivate other disinfectants. It is relatively non-toxic compared to other disinfectants and now available commercially to consumers. In working for the Department of Defense, I became familiar with the agent and its usage. Decon7 is currently used in large volumes to disinfect medical facilities, factories and in China as well as quarantine areas and vehicles in other countries impacted by the virus outbreak.

I hesitate to put the name of any brand or company on my site and have no vested interest in the company. However, there is simply no other agent with these properties. This company has been there for my patients and their families. They sell Decon7 at several sites which my patients have used. Please just call the company and find out whether the company or distributor could ship it. I have included information regarding development and initial usage by Sandia Labs as well as the technical report of its testing against the SARS Coronavirus.

I am asked about risks of touching surfaces of areas where the virus may be present. In the event you encounter the word “fomite’ while reading, the word simply refers to Inanimate objects with can be the source of infections An article in the New England Journal of Medicine published yesterday clarified that including the potential of an individual infected with SARS-CoV-2 to create fomites.

*Their findings indicate that even while asymptomatic, an individual with SARS-CoV-2 with characteristically high viral loads in the upper respiratory tract has the potential to shed and transmit the virus Their results indicated that aerosol and fomite transmission of SARS-CoV-2 is plausible, since the virus can remain viable and infectious in aerosols for hours and on surfaces up to days*

I have been asked by patients, families and by friends where to get accurate information about the coronavirus. If I were to pick one site to rapidly give me information on a global scale, I find the Johns Hopkins University of Medicine Coronavirus Resource Site to be the most valuable.

The Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering created a COVID-19 Global Interactive Map

The data sources include the World Health Organization, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China, local media reports, local health departments, and the DXY, one of the world’s largest online communities for physicians, health care professionals, pharmacies and facilities.

Johns Hopkins experts in global public health, infectious disease, and emergency preparedness have been at the forefront of the international response to COVID-19.

Please take advantage of this offer. I encourage patients and families to read the same articles I do. The most powerful weapon a parent can possess in midst of an child's illness is knowledge. It allows for a semblance of control in lieu of helplessness.

Finn Somnier, M.D., Ph.D.
Compendium on Autoimmune Encephalitis
April 2016

Dr. Finn Somnier passed away in August 2016. This is the last edition of the compendium from a man who was a teacher, scientist, physician, and a colleague. He was an inspiration to me. He pioneered the concept of neural autoimmunity and provided a framework in the conceptual organization of neuronal antigens by location and by various neurological, psychiatric and neuropsychiatric manifestations.

As the media focused on a syndrome, he reminded one to pull back far enough from the tip, known as PANDAS/PANS, to see the giant submerged portion of an iceberg known as autoimmune encephalitis (AE). With the increasing incidence in autoimmunity in our population.....AE is on a collision course with a medical community with training based on a division of health care rendered in the form of specialties and ages. Unfortunately, AE is an illness whose symptoms and insidious clinical course, present in a manner
not conducive to treatment without collaborative care.

Below is the link to the direct PDF of Dr. Somnier’s compendium.
If the file downloads in an .ashx format you will get an option to pick another program to open the document in...just choose Adobe Reader/Acrobat.

REMEDIATION OF INTERNAL BUILDING ENVELOPE.
I was asked about remediation of surfaces within the structure or inside the buildings of wall cavities with other agents in addition to or other than Microban. I have hesitated to put the name of any brand or company on my site. This particular agent was developed initially by Sandia National Laboratories for the Department of Defense to destroy chemical nerve agents and some of the lethal biological weapons or infectious agents known to man. It destroys bacteria, mold spores and their respective mycotoxins. It is relatively non toxic and now available commercially. I worked for the Department of Defense and am very familiar with the agent and its usage. I have included
information regarding it’s development and it’s initial usage. Please understand that I have no affiliation with this company in any manner or form.
There is simply no other agent with these properties.
