To address the need for crucial eye care, Harris Health use to employ a mobile eye care unit that traveled to five of Harris Health’s health centers. The units were a joint effort with Baylor College of Medicine. Units accommodated complete eye examinations, minor surgical procedures, specimen refrigeration, sterilization and hospitalization referrals.

Today, Harris Health no longer uses a mobile eye unit because it offers eye care at several of its health centers.
