Strengthen your feet and say goodbye to that stubborn pain!

These three exercises help with foot pain, arch support, and ankle soreness. 👣

All exercises will be for 5 seconds! Increase by one second daily as you continue to do these exercises.

1. Lift only your big toe with all the other toes remaining on the ground.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Keep your big toe on the ground, then raise the rest of your toes.

3. Spread all ten of your toes as wide as you can!

What is the vagus nerve? Your vagus nerve serves as the “on/off” switch to your Parasympathetic state!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s a sensory nerve that starts at the base of the brain and travels down both sides of your neck through your stomach and intestines, enervating your heart and lungs, and connecting your throat, neck, ear, and facial muscles.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When the Parasympathetic is active, our bodies are in a receptive state to heal. They feel safe, calm, and relaxed.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Three easy ways to stimulate your vagus nerve:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👃 PRANAYAMA (a.k.a. alternate-nostril breathing)
This can help balance the left and right sides of your vagus nerve. As you breathe, alternate the left and right nostrils for a total of 9 complete breaths.

🎶 SING / HUM / CHANT
Vibrations of sound, including chanting or humming, can stimulate your vagus nerve and improve heart rate variability.

🔄 HEAD ROLLS
Bring your chin to your chest, then roll your head in a complete circle 3-5 times. Then reverse.

We are the premiere chiropractic office in Houston for pregnancy and pediatric chiropractic. Four of our chiropractors are advanced certified through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association in pregnancy and pediatric chiropractic treatment. We also provide a full complement of massage therapy services, Pilates, yoga, and acupuncture while still maintaining the personal relationships and one-on-one service of a small business. Just because you’re pregnant, it does not mean you have to suffer with back pain, sciatic issues, SPD, or headaches. Regular chiropractic care can help improve pelvic alignment and studies have shown that this can help reduce labor times. For babies, we also believe that gentle chiropractic and craniosacral treatment can assist in optimizing nerve flow so that children can develop to their greatest potential. We have seen patients with latch and nursing issues, colic, reflux, plagiocephaly, torticollis, constipation, chronic ear infections, and scoliosis improve with chiropractic treatment (just to name a few conditions). Our clinic offers additional services for people of all ages and from all walks of life who are seeking ways to improve their health and posture without medication or surgery.
