Katelyn Sweeney 💙

This year will make 5 years that katelyn has been with the OSPTA team as an RNCM for the Mon Valley area. Katelyn also helps with training when new nurses join our company.

What Is your favorite memory of your time witb OSPTA?

Myself and an OSPTA Aide, Kara D, were able to take a patient of ours who had Parkinson’s disease and advanced functional disability outside on her back patio to see the spring flowers in bloom and sit with her husband. She didn’t think she would see outside before passing. We were able to take the sweetest photo of her and her husband. I miss her!

Why do you choose to work at OSPTA?

Working with OSPTA has taught me that being a nurse goes beyond a clinical skill set. I’ve learned from some incredible nurses who have become friends. It’s a tight knit community with having the same goal in mind- going above and beyond to provide end of life care while supporting our patients and their families.

Lots of fun at Grandview Estates of Elizabeth today celebrating Fat Tuesday! 🎭

OSPTA presented certificates of recognition to Mon Valley Healthcare employees who went above and beyond during one of the biggest snowstorms this area has seen in years. Alysia and Kristen were featured in the Mon Valley Independent for their part in recognizing these hard working employees. 💙

Some spent several days at the facility during last month’s huge snowstorm to make sure residents were cared for.

We held a memorial service today for our patients at Grandview Estates of Elizabeth who passed on in 2025. In our field, we often stay with our patients until the end of life. We find this to be an incredible honor. Gathering together to celebrate their life is something we look forward to each and every year. ❤️
