BLOOD TYPE AND DISEASE RISKS

Most people know their blood type—and you’ll definitely find out if you ever need a blood transfusion, or have an organ transplant. Your doctors will take special care to use the blood type that matches, or is compatible with, yours.

A mismatch could cause an immune system reaction that could result in complications like kidney damage or failure, blood clotting leading to organ damage or stroke and, in more extreme cases, death. Fortunately, today’s sophisticated testing techniques greatly reduce the chance of a mismatch.

Understand blood basics
All blood has a number of shared building blocks:
•Red blood cells carry oxygen and carbon dioxide to and from the lungs
•White blood cells are immune cells that attack invaders
•Platelets clot together to prevent bleeding
•Plasma holds it all together

But there are differences as well. There are possible two antigens—A and B—on the surface of your red blood cells. Their presence, or absence, determines your blood type which is inherited, based on the blood types of both of your parents.

What’s your type?
There are four main blood types: A, B, AB and O. Type A has the A antigen; type B has the B antigen; Type AB has both; type O has neither. You’re probably aware that your blood type is either positive or negative, but what does that mean?

There is a third antigen, a protein called the Rh factor, which may also be present on the red blood cells. If you have this protein, your blood type is positive; if not, your blood type is negative. Most people have a positive blood type.

Type O positive is the most common type in the US, while AB negative is the least. There are some ethnic variations as well. For example, more African-Americans and Asians are type B positive than are Caucasians and people of Hispanic descent.

How blood type affects your health
Obviously, it’s not possible to change your blood type. But research suggests that certain blood types can raise your risk of potentially serious conditions, says Carla Bell, a genetic counselor at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

Awareness can help you proactively take steps to curtail these risks. On the other hand, certain blood types may be associated with a lower risk of certain diseases. While that’s not a get-of-jail-free card, it’s good to know that your blood type may give you an extra health boost. You’ll still need to make smart lifestyle choices, like eating a healthy diet and getting regular exercise.

Risk of hemorrhage
Losing a large quantity of blood is common after severe trauma such as after a car accident or other injury. In many causes, hemorrhaging can be stopped and lost blood replaced by a transfusion, but people with type O blood may be at a higher risk of uncontrolled bleeding, according to new research. An observational study published in May 2018 in Critical Care looked at the medical records of 900 Japanese people admitted to emergency care medical centers for severe trauma between 2013 and 2016.

Trauma-related death rates for those with type O blood were 28 percent, compared to 11 percent among those with other blood types. While more research is needed to understand the link between blood type and post-trauma outcomes, the study authors suggest that type O blood contains lower levels of blood clotting agents, which may contribute to more bleeding.

Risk of heart disease and blood clotting conditions
Some researchers believe that people with types A, B and AB blood have an increased risk of coronary heart disease, due to increased levels of inflammatory markers and certain proteins in the blood that lead to blood clotting. That translates into an increased risk of venous thromboembolisms, which are blood clots that start in veins (as opposed to arteries). Estimates vary, but the most recent and rigorous studies put the risk at about double.

Heart attacks and stroke are also clotting problems. If a clot blocks blood flow to the heart, that’s a heart attack; if it blocks blood flow to the brain, it’s a stroke. People with blood type A have a 24 percent higher risk of heart attack than people than people with AB or O blood types. For stroke, people with type AB blood have an 83 percent higher risk.

Risk of memory problems
A 2014 study published in Neurology of more than 1,000 people suggests that people with blood type AB have an 82 percent greater risk of cognitive impairment than people with other blood types.

On the other hand, type O may protect against memory problems, including Alzheimer’s disease. A 2015 study published in Brain Research Bulletin found that out of 189 people who had undergone brain MRIs, the brains of those with blood type O had the greatest amount of grey matter in their brains, providing possible protection against dementia.

Risk of stomach conditions
The link between blood type, stomach cancers and peptic ulcers was first discovered in the 50s. Since then, additional research has provided further evidence of that link. In a 2010 study published in American Journal of Epidemiology, researchers looked at data from more than 1 million people. They found that people with blood type A had the highest risk for gastric cancers, while people with blood type O were at greater risk for developing peptic ulcers.

Risk of pancreatic cancer
Pancreatic cancer is the fifth leading cause of cancer deaths in the US; this aggressive form of cancer also has one of the lowest survival rates. Since the 1940s researchers have been aware of a link between blood type and pancreatic cancer. But over the years, study results as to which type poses the greater risk have been mixed.

In some cases, type A was believed to be the culprit; other studies of pancreatic cancer patients found a prevalence of blood type B. More recent studies have found that, in general, people with non-O blood type carry a greater risk.

But a more definitive answer has been uncovered by a major 2010 study from the Pancreatic Cancer Cohort Consortium (PanScan), which included 1,533 people with pancreatic cancer. The researchers found that those with blood type A with one specific gene mutation were at the highest risk. Another finding that most researchers agree on is that people with type O blood have the lowest incidence rate of pancreatic cancer.

Risks in pregnancy
So far, the A and B antigens have played a role in disease risk. But what about the Rh factor? Rh factor comes into play during pregnancy, if the mother has Rh-negative blood and her fetus’s blood is Rh-positive.

It’s known as Rh incompatibility. Usually, the mother’s blood is separate from the baby’s blood, but during childbirth and in other cases, such as amniocentesis, the blood can mix. Then, the mother’s immune system attacks the baby’s red blood cells.

“The body doesn’t usually react much during a first pregnancy,” notes Bell. “But in subsequent pregnancies it can be a problem.” That’s because the first baby is born before the antibodies have a chance to develop against the baby’s Rh-positive blood. Once formed, the antibodies stay in the body.

Symptoms of Rh incompatibility may be mild, causing jaundice or low muscle tone. For more serious cases, complications to the baby can include:
•Lethargy
•Fluid buildup
•Brain damage
•Problems with movement, speech and mental function
•Seizures
•Heart failure
•Death

“In the past, babies did not generally make it to term when there was Rh incompatibility,” says Bell. “The mothers miscarried pretty early on.” Today, expecting mothers can get a RhoGAM shot to head off any Rh incompatibility. “It’s basically Rh factors injected into the mom so her body recognizes any Rh antibodies the baby has,” Bell explains.

Risk of malaria
Of particular concern to travelers and people who spend time in the tropics, the blood type O protects somewhat against—but does not provide immunity to—malaria, a fever-causing parasite spread by mosquitos that kills about half a million people worldwide.

Researchers believe that the parasite that causes malaria secretes proteins that stick to the surface of red blood cells, making them hard and causing them to adhere to blood vessel walls. This can lead to wide range of malaria symptoms, from fever and anemia, to coma and death. The proteins tend to stick more strongly to type A red blood cells, but more weakly to type O blood cells. “You don’t accumulate as much of the parasite in your body if you have type O blood,” says Bell.

The bottom line
For many of these conditions, like heart disease and cancer, lifestyle and other factors will increase or decrease your risk much more than blood type. “It’s important to remember that the effects of these are pretty small,” says Bell. “No one will be doomed to have a heart attack because of their blood type. For all people, the way to reduce their risk of disease is common-sense steps like no smoking. While it’s measurable, the net effect of blood type on disease risk is relatively small.”

BE CAREFUL WITH SUPPLEMENTS
_________________________

Half of all US adults take dietary supplements, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, believing these pills, powders and drinks can increase vitamin and mineral intake, up energy levels and address a slew of other purported health benefits.

Americans spend about $35 billion a year on dietary supplements, which may only be beneficial to people in certain populations, like vegans and those with conditions that prevent proper fat absorption, like Crohn's disease. However, supplements can also increase the risk of complications during surgery, like bleeding and an altered response to anesthesia. They may also cause harmful drug interactions and side effects, like headaches and nausea. A 2015 study published in the New England Journal of Medicine found that an estimated 23,000 Americans visit the emergency room for complications related to dietary supplements each year.

Brush up on the facts before you begin taking any supplements; these five tips can help.

Do your homework
Supplements don't prevent, treat or cure diseases like prescription medications can, and manufacturers aren't required to follow the same stringent regulations, either. The US Food and Drug Administration does not have the authority to review dietary supplements before they hit the shelves like they do with prescription medications. Instead, manufacturers and distributors are responsible for ensuring the safety of their products before they go on sale. That means there's no guarantee the supplement was tested thoroughly, if at all.

A September 2018 study published in Clinical Toxicology suggests not all supplements contain the ingredients or amount of ingredients they claim. Researchers analyzed 24 weight loss and pre-workout supplements to determine the level of higenamine—a stimulant that might harm your heart health. Just five products contained the quantity of the ingredient listed on the package.

In another study published in JAMA Network Open in October 2018, researchers looked at more than 700 US Food and Drug Administration-issued warnings about dietary supplements tainted with unapproved ingredients between 2007 and 2016. A majority of the supplements in question were taken for sexual enhancement, weight loss or muscle building. The contaminants were typically pharmaceutical drugs with the potential to cause serious adverse reactions or interactions with other medications.

In almost 98 percent of cases, the harmful or forbidden ingredients weren't listed on the supplement packaging, and approximtely 20 percent of supplements contained more than one unapproved ingredient.

Just 46 percent of these products were voluntarily recalled, and not all manufacturers and distributers were diligent in removing potentially harmful ingredients from their products. According to the research, of the products found to be contaminated more than once, almost 68 percent had new drug ingredients reported in their second or third warnings. So, dangerous supplements are still available to consumers despite warnings.

There's no shortage of web sites for supplements, the trick is knowing where to look for reliable information. Check government sites like the National Institutes of Health or talk with your pharmacist, and always get your doctor's okay before starting a new supplement.

Beware of false claims
Folic acid helps prevent birth defects, like spina bifida and anencephaly, and research suggests calcium and vitamin D supplements can improve bone health. But not all supplements do what they claim, and many need more research. Not surprisingly, many weight-loss supplements—a.k.a. fat burners or appetite suppressants—don't keep weight off long-term, and some have harmful side effects, according to the National Institutes of Health.

Watch out for the word "natural," too. It doesn't always mean a supplement is safe. Some natural herbs may be considered safe, but they can become contaminated during processing or may be intentionally contaminated with actual prescription drugs.

Others, like kava and comfrey—banned in oral form in the US, and available for purchase only as an ointment (which may still be harmful)—can cause liver damage. St. John's wort, an herb used to treat depression, can make birth control and other medications less effective.

Keep your doctor informed
Proper dietary supplement regimens vary from person to person, based on your specific needs. Talk with your doctor before you start, and keep him or her up to date on any changes. This seems simple, but many people don't share their supplement intake with their healthcare providers.

A 2018 cross-sectional survey published in the British Journal of General Practice suggests one-third of 149 participants over the age of 65 who are also taking prescription medications hadn't disclosed supplement use to their doctor. There are a number of medications affected by supplement use, but vitamin K, for example, can reduce the efficacy of blood thinners taken to prevent clots.

Follow directions carefully
Never take more than the recommended dose or combine supplements. Avoid taking supplements with other medications, or substituting supplements for actual medication.

Also, read package warning labels. Women who are pregnant or nursing, people who have allergies to any ingredients, young children and older adults should never take supplements without their doctor's approval. Your doctor can also assess your risk of taking supplements with an existing condition or of combining it with other medications.

Don’t take supplements with these ingredients
There are 15 ingredients found in dietary supplements that people should always avoid, according to a Consumer Reports study. These dangerous ingredients have the potential to cause kidney and liver failure, paralysis, seizure, possible death and more.
•Aconite
•Caffeine Powder
•Chaparral
•Coltsfoot
•Comfrey
•Germander
•Greater Celandine
•Green Tea Extract Powder
•Kava
•Lobelia
•Methylsynephrine
•Pennyroyal Oil
•Red Yeast Rice
•Usnic Acid
•Yohimbe

Whether or not you’ll experience severe side effects depends on three factors: how much and how long you’ve been ingesting the ingredients, and if you have a pre-existing condition.

Many of these ingredients—like caffeine powder, methylsynephrine and red yeast rice—may interact with statins taken to lower cholesterol, drugs like aspirin that have blood-thinning properties and other stimulants. The study concluded the health benefits of these ingredients don’t justify the risks, and yet these ingredients can be found readily in supplements at your local drug store.

DON'T DRINK THESE....

Conventional mindset has always been that drinking pure fruit juice is healthy. We purchase fruit juice smoothies in the store, thinking that will help our health and weight loss, and start our days with a large glass of OJ—for the vitamin C. We ‘juice’ vegetables and fruit for the perfect healthy drink. We think we are giving our kids a healthy alternative by letting them drink box after box of “pure fruit juice”. It’s pure fruit juice, so it’s good for us, right?

Juice, whether it is store bought (the worst), or freshly made at home seems to be a healthy choice. But, contrary to popular thinking, juice, purchased from the store, is not far from a drink made of pure liquid sugar. And in truth, it’s not much better than drinking a soda. So, in spite of the fact that you or your children may be drinking a drink that says “100% pure fruit juice”, it may as well say “pure sugar”. So though you may have thought you were making a healthier choice over sodas or other processed drinks with added sugar, you may be drinking something equally as bad.

The sugar that comes from fruit is fructose. Same as the sugar in high fructose corn syrup. Fructose is not a healthy sweetener, in spite of its natural source. Fructose, unless it is wrapped up in a whole fruit, is bad news for your body and your waistline. Fructose is a non-essential dietary sugar. Fructose is actually known to be a strong contributor to obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and high triglycerides and LDL cholesterol. Additionally, it is thought that fructose has some very definite and sinister ties to cancer. And while it’s okay in fruit, because you are not get large, concentrated quantities of it, drinking in tons of fructose in the form of fruit juice will lead you down a path of poor health.

When you drink a glass of juice, let’s say, for example, a 12 oz glass of orange juice, you hit your system with a whopping 37 grams of sugar in the form of mostly fructose. And when you have a 12oz glass of apple juice, you are gulping down an astronomical 40g of sugar! That’s as much as a can of soda! But wait, that’s not the worst of it—a similar sized glass of grape juice–white or red–contains almost 60g of sugar! That’s like having a can and a half of soda!

Drinking a mixed juice ‘cocktail’ is no better, even if it only contains pure fruit juice. Most often concentrated white grape juice, or apple juice is added for sweetness. That adds even more sugar to the mix! Check out the sugar grams in Tropicana Berry Punch, or Ocean Spray 100% Cranberry Juice. It’s a massive amount of sugar! And don’t be mistaken into thinking the calories and the sugar grams, are worth the vitamins, they are not. There is little vitamin C, antioxidants of anything else of benefit in bottle fruit juice.

One of the biggest problems here is that fruit juice contains NO fiber and is a very concentrated source of liquid sugar—the worst kind. It is extremely easy to consume massive amounts of sugar from juice in a very short time. Fructose gets sent straightaway to the liver for processing and some of it is quickly turned into fat cells. Some of the sugar just goes right into your bloodstream and causes insulin to be released—which stores fat cells. The perfect recipe for quick weight gain.

A lot of those new fat cells are stored in the liver, creating a fast track to fatty liver disease. The rest of those fat cells turn into triglycerides, one of the precursors for heart disease, and due to the release of insulin, many of these fat cells are quickly stored in various parts of the body—i.e., bellyfat, hips, thighs, etc. This particular study shows that just one glass of grape juice a day caused insulin resistance and increased waist size in just three months. Not only that, but 2 servings of juice a day also doubles your chance for developing painful gout.

And the biggest problem with liquid calories is that you still continue to eat as much or more. They just don’t make you feel full—on the contrary, juice just makes you want to eat more, making sugary drinks like juice is one of the most fattening things you can put in your body. Drink juice, eat more.

SNEAKY "SWEETENERS" CAUSE WEIGHT GAIN...

Today we know artificial sweeteners should be assaulted (but no one really knew it in 2007). That’s because we now have lab-based evidence—and a precise explanation of how—artificial sweeteners in diet drinks and candies, yogurts and even English muffins are doing more harm than good to your waistline and making your RealAge older.

According to Australian researchers from the University of Sydney, the brain contains a complex neuronal network where the balance between sweetness and calorie intake is assessed. If the balance is out of whack (too much artificial sweet flavor, not enough calories) your brain instructs your body to get more fuel on board! That leads to overeating and weight gain. And, add the researchers, artificial sweeteners also contribute to hyperactivity, insomnia and decreased sleep quality.

This doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy sweet flavors—in fact you should, as long as they don’t come from added sugars or syrups or artificial sweeteners. Instead opt for 1 ounce 70 percent cacao dark chocolate a day; enjoy 2 to 4 servings of fresh fruit (there’s nothing like a ripe peach!); and get into the subtle sweetness of whole grains and veggies like bell peppers and roasted carrots. If you give your palate time to recover from being overdosed on artificial and added sweets, you’ll find the sweetness of natural foods to be deeply satisfying.

DIETARY SUPPLEMENTS AND COMMON SENSE:

Think “all natural” means “perfectly safe”? Unfortunately that’s not the case, at least when it comes to vitamins and supplements. A study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that about 23,000 Americans per year take a trip to the emergency room due to problems related to supplements. About 10 percent of those cases even require a hospital stay.

“There’s a lot of misinformation” surrounding supplements, says Keith Roach, MD, Sharecare’s chief medical officer. “A lot of people think if it’s natural it can’t hurt you, and that’s just not true,” he says.

Who’s at risk?

Young adults between the ages of 20 and 34 were most likely to end up in the ER due to supplements. Women ended up in the hospital more often than men. Children under 4 are also at risk, mostly due to getting ahold of bottles and swallowing pills when their parents aren’t looking.

Weight-loss and energy-booster supplements were the biggest offenders, responsible for about one-third of emergency room visits. “Weight-loss and energy supplements have the potential to be scary,” says Dr. Roach. They’re full of caffeine and chemicals and are responsible for nearly three-quarters of emergency room visits where people complain of heart-related symptoms. “With too much (of these supplements), you’re going to start getting these kinds of toxicities. I don’t know whether they took too much or took a normal dose for most people, but it wasn’t a good dose for them,” says Roach.

Roach says that consumers “need to think of supplements as drugs. If you’re starting to have symptoms that look like the side effects of drugs, it could be the supplements. If it’s severe, go to the emergency room and if it’s not, stop taking them and call your doctor.”

Buyer beware

What’s even more problematic for consumers is that you rarely know what you’re getting. Supplements aren’t regulated by the federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) like over-the-counter and prescription drugs, so there’s very little oversight. “Because supplements are not regulated, most don’t have quality control, and you don’t know what you’re getting,” says Roach, though he notes that that’s changing as more brands are having their supplements independently tested and verified.

It’s important to note that while 23,000 ER visits per year sounds like a lot—and it is—that number pales in comparison to the number of people taking supplements. According to one estimate, half of all adults have used at least one supplement in the past month. “You’ll find that not a lot of people end up in the ER, relative to how many are taking supplements,” says Roach.

The bottom line, he says, is that most healthy people with a good diet don’t need to take supplements. “There is arguably no supplement that can make a healthy person healthier,” says Roach. Some supplements might help people with certain medical conditions who can’t or won’t take over-the-counter or prescription drugs. But, in Roach’s opinion, “There is little to no value in taking supplements for a healthy person with a healthy diet. For most people, you’re wasting your money.”

For GOLFERS only...

How many times have you been amazed at that incredible "corkscrew" windup that Tiger Woods has before he brings it about into yet another one of his sensational shots?
I guess that we all have had that sense of wonder.

But....
Here's the discouraging part of that picture:....

He's able to do that mostly as a result of "genetics" ----
and, unless we've been blessed with a smililar DNA makeup that Tiger has...we're highly unlikely EVER to be able to pull off such similar feats of athletic prowess on the links.

However...get ready, because...
here's another piece of unwelcome news that's related to this:....

No matter how many professional lessons we might take....there will be a "limit" to the amount of improvement that those lessons will provide to our current game.

NOW....Here's the GOOD news:

We CAN not only greatly improve our game.....
but also lower our handicap significantly....
and both without taking another professional lesson....OR....buying a new set of clubs!
And the "secret" to this is simplicity itself!
What we need to change is the way in which our bodies move!

THAT'S RIGHT!

All the lessons in the world CAN teach you the correct way to bring your club around and to make contact with the golf ball.....BUT.....if your body isn't able to repeatedly and regularly co-operate with the physics of proper form....
it makes the ultimate goal of consistency still seem "out of reach".

The REASONS for this:

Golf is an "unnatural and unbalanced" sport.....relying mostly on ONE SIDE of the body to do the majority of the work, as do most sports; with runners, gymnasts, cyclists and swimmers being the possible exceptions.
Over time....your body develops a "favoritism" towards one side (and this is only logical --- because it is in the body's natural wisdom to attempt to always balance itself), but unfortunately, in the process, this results more often than not, in an imbalance of the left and right sides of the body.
It's a simple and unavoidable pitfall of the nature of the sport itself.
However....
Nature (the effects of gravity), a "less than perfect diet" and inadequate nutrition, coupled with our lack of knowledge about the advantages of pursuing alternative body therapies, also stand in the way of the "true" improvements in your game which you are seeking!

NOW....Here's where I come in:

What's needed is for your body to move in a more "fluid" fashion; to have that extra "range of motion" that you've most likely noticed is keeping you from getting that great "wind-up" that Tiger Woods so easily and effortlessly shows to us.
Of course.....it would be folly for me to tell you that I can turn you into a golfer of his caliber, because as I said before.....he has a specific genetic advantage on his side that is common to many of our most successful athletes in their respective fields of play.

Barring that however...

The "secret" to a better game lies NOT in more lessons.....
but rather in giving your body the competitive physical advantage it needs so that those lessons you've already had can finally show up in their full potential as "changes" in your score card that you can see for yourself!...
And all of this simply by releasing your body's long-standing restrictions....and unlocking your natural swing.

I have been helping not only GOLFERS....but athletes of many other disciplines for years now....and with impressive results! (Please read in the testimonial section by Dennis DeLorenzo regarding how bodywork helped his game). FROM MY WEBSITE: thealdrichtouch.com

A series of Myofascial Re-patterning sessions, along with an improved nutritional program (optional) can significantly improve your abilities and your overall enjoyment of the game.

So.......Please call my office with any additional questions you might have....
and then.....get ready for that "boost" you've been looking for on the greens!

NUTRITIONAL HELP FOR PEOPLE WITH ECZEMA or ATOPIC DERMATITIS

Millions of people around the world have eczema. In fact, it’s spreading at near epidemic proportions. Unfortunately, most eczema sufferers never find a cure: The skin care products they try either don’t work at all or work only for a short time. A treatment that works today might be useless in just a few weeks or months. The same is true of medications – once the medication is stopped, the condition returns. Thousands of doctors now recommend a shielding lotion as eczema treatment, but you may also have underlying nutritional deficiencies contributing to the problem. Find out what they are, and what you can do about them.

One of the primary nutritional factors behind eczema is vitamin B deficiency. The usual suspects are B3 (niacin), B5 (pantothenic acid), B6 (pyridoxine), PABA (para-aminobenzoic acid) B7 (biotin).

B3 is necessary for hormone production, detoxification and helping the body process carbohydrates to produce energy and form fat. While forming fat might not sound like a great idea, we’re not talking about weight or weight gain. We’re talking about good fat – the kind that is combined with dead skin cells and oils to form the protective layer of the skin. Without it, the skin loses its natural moisture which, in turn, can lead to skin problems. If you also have problems with insomnia, weakness, mental confusion or aggression, B3 may also help your eczema.

B5, which, like B3, also helps convert carbohydrates to energy and fat, helps the body form healthy red blood cells and antibodies, and helps it make hormones. It may also help detoxify the body. If your skin condition is accompanied by stomach discomfort, headaches, fatigue or difficulty sleeping, you may be deficient in vitamin B5.

B6 helps process amino acids – the building blocks of all proteins and some hormones. If you find you’re not as sharp as you’d like to be or your mood is not very pleasant, you could have a B6 deficiency.

PABA, considered by some to be part of the B vitamin family, is an antioxidant that fights free radicals, helps form the red blood cells that carry oxygen through the body, enables the body to break down proteins, and maintains intestinal flora. If you have red, itchy and patchy skin or lesions along with depression, fatigue, irritability, nervousness, and constipation, chances are you need PABA.

B7, in addition to many other functions, helps the body produce new cells, maintains proper function of oil glands, and helps control glucose levels. If your blood sugar tends to run high, your eczema might be connected to B7 deficiency.

As you may have noticed, many of the B vitamins have similar functions and they do work together. Sometimes it’s best to take a supplement that includes all the B vitamins but, if you’re already doing that, you may want to increase the dose of one or the other, depending on your symptoms.

Many people take vitamin B supplements on a daily basis. If you have eczema, it’s vital. However, don’t forget the shielding lotion: Vitamin B may help the internal problems but if your skin is continuously exposed to household and environmental chemicals, the nutritional handling you’re working on will be an uphill battle. Your best eczema treatment protocol is a good shielding lotion for the outside, and good nutrition for the inside – starting with vitamin B.
