Welcome to the expanded Recovery programming at the Logan County Sheriff's Office/Jail!

Earlier this year municipal court judge Jacob Estes got together with chief Probation officer Mike Madigan and Dr. Adam Sorensen to discuss how they could best invest a surplus of money from the IDAT funds.

We are pleased to say that Recovery Zone has been able to partner with the courts and the Jail through Peer support services and thinking outside of the box with Recovery programming.

Through understanding that Recovery is more than abstaining from use and more about learning to live and love life, getting out and enjoying the sun, getting your hands dirty, and doing something purposeful we have created a space just for that!

With a nod from Sheriff Randy Dodds and the vision of Leiutenant Tim Klingelhofer and Staff Sergeant Joe Torsell, we now have a small chicken farm to add to the already existing garden ( which BTW has grown exponentially).

As a person with lived experience I can appreciate the opportunities this program presents and how valuable it is to a person's mental health and well-being. We are able to conduct our one-on-one peer support as well as some groups outside and that really gives a sense of freedom in spite of circumstances or current situations. It gives the people an opportunity to get out and be productive versus sitting in the cell with just themselves and their thoughts.

Another huge benefit of this program is the vast majority of the chickens are meat birds and will be processed and used to reduce cost in the kitchen as well as eggs that are being produced as well.

This is a very exciting program that has the potential to have a tremendous impact on many lives through learning some simple skills and values and we are very grateful to be a part of it.

Big shout out to Kathy Zeller and the Recovery Zone team for all the support too!

✨ Windows for Awareness – Breaking the Stigma ✨
Last but certainly not least, we are honored to spotlight Carly Davis—a devoted follower of Christ Jesus, homeschool mom to three “Jesus girls,” and a passionate advocate for hope and freedom in Him.

Carly is the founder of Break Free to Victory, where she serves the community as both a biblical counselor and a mental health & nutrition coach at Harper Community Church, where her husband serves as pastor. She also leads the church’s children and youth ministries, pouring her heart into reaching children, teens, and women with the life-changing truth of the Gospel.

At this year’s Windows for Awareness event, Carly shared her passion for helping others break free from the chains that hold them back—whether mental, emotional, or spiritual. Her life and ministry reflect a deep commitment to serving others, speaking truth in love, and pointing every heart toward the hope we have in Jesus.

🙏 Thank you, Carly, for your unwavering faith, your servant’s heart, and your dedication to seeing lives transformed through Christ. Your testimony is a powerful reminder that freedom is possible.

WHAT A WEEKEND!🚣‍♂️🌊

Logan County Adult Recovery Court made their annual trip to the New River Gorge (Lansing WV) for Rafting in Recovery.

Such a great opportunity to get out and enjoy life and meet new people!

This event is nationally known and is great for networking with others in recovery, building Recovery capital, and just taking time to unplug and unwind!

The participants and alumni work hard to get where they are and this is just one way to acknowledge their efforts!

The staff (treatment team and Judge Kevin Braig) for ARC put a lot of effort into helping the folks get and stay on the path to success!

Recovery Zone is grateful to play a role in this event and to support the ARC program in general.

Thanks to all that help make these moments possible!
