We want to give a shoutout to Nichole Muck, a member of our registration team at Mary Rutan Health!

Nichole is our most recent recipient of our quarterly "Moment of Excellence Award." This program’s goal is to recognize and pay special tribute to our team members that provide outstanding moments of excellence to their customers, by going above and beyond in their interactions and care.

Nichole was recognized for her exceptional judgement and compassion when helping a patient on the phone. Her teammates commented, "Nichole's quick thinking, situational awareness, and compassionate response directly contributed to making sure our patient received the emergency care they needed!"

This American Heart Month, our Cardiac Rehabilitation team wants to share with you some information on what Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation is!

Cardiac Rehabilitation is a doctor-managed program of supervised exercise, education, and support to help people recover from heart events or surgery. It aims to improve cardiovascular health by teaching heart-healthy lifestyle habits. Its benefits include reduced risk of future heart problems, improved strength, better mood, and enhanced quality of life.

If you have had a recent heart condition, or if you have a chronic lung condition, our staff will help you recover faster; get stronger; and return to a full, productive life. We will help you lower your risk for future health problems through comprehensive exercise training and education.

Most health insurance plans cover phase 2 cardiac rehabilitation or phase 2 pulmonary rehabilitation. To get started, we will need a referral from your doctor. Please have your doctor call us at 937.599.7020.

If you've ever been to see a Mary Rutan Health provider, you may have been sent a survey after your visit. These surveys ask patients about things such as the cleanliness of our clinics, or how well they felt they were cared for by our team. These responses are gathered and ratings are compared to other healthcare institutions around the country.

We want to give a HUGE shoutout to our Ear, Nose & Throat and Audiology teams! For the cumulative year of 2025, our ENT team had an overall mean score of 97.7 out of 100 and ranked in the 99th percentile. Our Audiology team had an overall mean score of 97.2 out of 100 and also ranked in the 99th percentile!

Our teams work hard to care for our patients every day, and we are extremely proud of these team members who worked so hard to positively impact our patients in 2025. Here is to a great 2026!

Our Mary Rutan Heart & Vascular and Level II Catheterization Lab Team wants to share some heart health tips this month in recognition of American Heart Month!

Today's Tip: Heart disease and heart attack are serious health threats for women. Yet many women aren't aware of their risk or of the potential warning signs of a heart attack.

Knowing the signs of a heart attack is important for everyone. But, according to the American Heart Association and the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, women are more likely than men to experience symptoms such as unusual fatigue and weakness, shortness of breath, nausea and vomiting, and back or jaw pain.

We are incredibly honored to be the recipients of the Bellefontaine High School Athletics Boosters Award!

This award recognizes a business that has demonstrated loyal support through funding, time, and service to Bellefontaine High School Athletics, and we are proud to stand alongside our local student-athletes and their families.

For more than a century, we’ve had the privilege of caring for the families of Logan County, both on and off the field. From providing sports medicine and athletic training services to supporting wellness initiatives, sponsorships, and school programs, investing in our youth and our community is part of who we are.

We were especially proud to have a large group of team members at Friday night’s basketball game to accept this meaningful honor in person.

Reminder: FREE HEART HEALTH SCREENINGS HAPPENING THIS WEEK!

Join our Mary Rutan Heart and Vascular team on Tuesday, February 17th for a free heart health screening event!

Our team will be providing free heart health screenings, including:
-Blood Pressure Screening
-High Cholesterol Screening
-Metabolic Syndrome Screening
-Spirometry Screening (For Current Smokers)
-Blood Sugar Screening
-Peripheral Vascular Disease Screening
**Please note: If you would like cholesterol and blood sugar screenings, you must fast for 12 hours before the tests! Light refreshments and snacks will be provided after these tests.
We want to thank our Heart & Vascular team for providing this wonderful opportunity to our community, and we hope to see you there!

We were honored to welcome Senator Susan Manchester and State Representatives Tim Barhorst and Ty Mathews to our new Mary Rutan Indian Lake Health Center for a recent visit and tour of the facility.

During their time with us, they shared their appreciation for the exceptional work of our Mary Rutan Health team and reaffirmed their support for the vital role we play in caring for the communities they represent.

Our President and CEO, Chad Ross, was proud to host the group and highlight how this new center is expanding access to high-quality, convenient care close to home for the Indian Lake community. From advanced technology to compassionate caregivers, we’re excited to showcase all that this location has to offer.
