Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a health threat to you and your loved ones because drug-resistant infections generally require more care and longer hospital stays to treat. AMR has developed across the globe from the misuse of antibiotics.

Kansas is the 10th highest antibiotic prescribing state in the US with an average 803 antibiotic prescriptions per 1,000 population. Please talk to your healthcare provider about the appropriate use of your prescriptions, and dispose of any unused or expired medications with our free “green bin” service.

Protect yourself and your loved ones by incorporating healthy habits into your lifestyle, too. No one can completely avoid getting an infection, but there are simple steps one can take to reduce risk.

Did you know RCH offers one of the only drug take-back bins in the area?

Available daily, you can safely dispose of your unused or expired meds with ease. “We aim to provide a secure way for our community to clean out their medicine cabinets, ensuring safer homes and neighborhoods,” says Shannon Short, RCH Pharmacist.

Just visit our front lobby, find the big green receptacle, and drop off your medications. Let's make a difference together!

The Radiothon evokes the vintage charm of rural American airwaves, with its local personalities telling local stories to garner local support for important local issues.
