Root Hair & Skin is a Premiere Surgical Hair Restoration & Cosmetic Dermatology center located in the Greater Seattle area.

We offer thorough workup, diagnosis, surgical & non-surgical treatment for all forms of hair loss & cosmetic dermatology services. All photographs on our page of before and after results are examples only. Transformation Tuesday!

We helped this 32 year old transgender female patient with their hairline feminization while also adding density to the thin areas of the frontal, mid, vertex, and parietal scalp. This patient underwent a hybrid FUT/FUE procedure consisting of 4,805 grafts along with hair loss medications in the form of low-dose oral minoxidil and oral dutasteride(which are both off label).

What a busy time for Dr. R and Dr. K. As they traveled to Berlin to be a part of the 33rd ISHRS World Congress in Berlin, Germany! Dr. K received an award for serving as the coeditor of the Hair Transplant Forum International for the past 3 years. Dr. R lectured at the ISHRS basics course where he did a hands on session on FUE harvesting with the WAW device before presenting a lecture on Follicular Unit Transplant surgery! Dr. K also lectured at the ISHRS basics course on FUT Slivering and graft preparation! All this in between enjoying some family time in Graz, Austria! So proud of our doctors and what they do for not only our patients and team, but for the field of hair restoration!

Ever wondered what hair transplant surgery actually looks like? Step into the procedure room with Dr. Roopani and our amazing team.

This patient came in for an FUE (Follicular Unit Excision/Extraction) hair transplant where individual follicular units are removed from the donor areas before being implanted into the areas with thinning hair. The follicular units are carefully excised with a motorized punch before they are removed from the scalp to be counted, sorted and prepared for implantation.

Tiny incisions are made in the recipient area. This is where the artistry comes in. The angle, direction, tilt, and density must be considered to create a natural looking result.

The team works to extract, sort, and prepare each follicular unit while Dr. Roopani uses implanters to place the hairs.
