October 7th, a day full of gratitude, wonder and reflection. Today, not only would have been my Mom’s birthday but it also marks the 27th anniversary of The BookWorm! Where have the years gone? Owning a bookstore was never on my radar. I’m didn’t know what I was doing when I first opened and I still don’t! Some have said that’s the secret to success, don’t know if that’s true or not. But I do know that it has taken a LOT of work, dedication and long hours but the rewards are worthwhile. Customers who have become dear friends, the joy of seeing a child’s face light up when they find a book and of course the fact that I’ve been able to have my fur friends in the store with me. But truth be told none of this would be possible without the people who have helped at the store. You’ll have made the store what it is today and you helped to keep me relatively sane and last but not least the customers!!! Without your love and support we would have never made it to this big milestone!! Thank you everyone for 27 years!!

Now that Brodie has your attention, we would like to share today’s messed up schedule. We weren’t expecting to work today but you know how quickly things can change. Problem is we have two appointments today. So we will be opening about 15 minutes late and closing 2 hours early (closing at 3)for a recheck vet appointment for Brodie. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for your understanding!!!

Since there has been so much concern to as why we are opening late , I thought I’d go ahead and share what’s going on. Nothing awful but I just wanted to wait until I had answers for Brodie’s latest condition. He has developed heart arrhythmia and he needs to wear an event monitor for 24 hours. So we went to the vet this morning to have it put on. Under the sage green coat is a mix of orange tape, gray tape, tan tape, a pink sock that the monitor is in and of course the green coat. So either it’s Brodie and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat or is he Doggy Parton with the coat of many colors?
