UVA: Aging rays have a longer wavelength, which pe*****tes the deeper layers of the skin and causes premature aging. UVA rays can cause skin laxity (lack of firmness), collagen reduction (plumpness), and produce sunspots years after exposure.

UVB: Burning rays have a shorter wavelength and affect the top layers of the skin. UVB rays are responsible for the sunburn you experience after exposure and can cause different types of skin cancer over time.

The weather is getting colder which means our skin can naturally become dry and dehydrated. There are several factors at play.

Cold temperatures and low humidity levels create a dry environment. Dry air pulls moisture away from the skin. Indoor heating or even the heater blowing on the skin in a car will dry the skin. Consider using a humidifier in areas of the house you spend the most time in.

When the weather is cold the heat in the shower tends to go up. The hot water breaks down the skin's barrier leading to water loss in the skin. We suggest always washing your face with tepid water to avoid stripping the barrier.

Your skin responds differently to different seasons so we suggest adjusting portions of your regimen to acclimate your skin to the changes in the environment.
