We had a truly delightful outing to Fran's Chocolates in Seattle! Everyone enjoyed sampling a variety of delicious treats, and one of our residents was especially thrilled to find her favorite... white chocolate. There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and sweet moments shared all around. It was an exceptionally wonderful day! What’s your favorite kind of chocolate, and have you ever tried Fran’s?

Meet our Executive Director, Maddie! Maddie has dedicated her career to senior living, beginning as a Music Therapist and discovering a passion for leadership during one of the most challenging times. When COVID hit, she shifted from music to operations to focus on keeping residents safe. The residents she lost during that time remain with her, and those memories continue to drive her commitment to providing the best possible care every day.

Inspired by her grandmother in Memory Care and her grandfather in Assisted Living back in Iowa, Maddie strives to make The Watermark a place she would proudly choose for her own grandparents; where residents belong, grow, and thrive, and team members feel supported every day.

One of Maddie’s favorite memories at The Watermark is a resident singing a full opera in the lobby, another joining in, and Maddie coming out to sing along; a moment the family later shared was brand new for the resident, this example perfectly illustrates the connections Maddie values most.

Looking ahead, Maddie is excited for the continued growth of our community and all the new residents, families, and team members we’ll meet in 2026. Outside of work, she enjoys time with her husband, friends, skiing, and cheering for the Mariners and Seahawks. Maddie, thank you for your leadership, we’re so grateful to have you on our team!

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., our residents reflected on their dreams during our 'I Have a Dream' activity. From small personal wishes to big aspirations for the future, each note was filled with heart and hope. Displayed on the wall, these messages gave family members the chance to read, connect, and celebrate the voices in our community. Together, we honored Dr. King’s legacy and the importance of sharing dreams and inspiration across generations.

Raising money for Watermark for Kids brought our community together for a truly memorable evening. Mark, our Director of Dining Services, and Executive Chef Sam in our Independent Living community hosted an exclusive 8-course dinner that began with a chef’s auction and ended with a very special dining experience. After the raffle winner was selected, they had the opportunity to invite their guests to enjoy an intimate night of thoughtfully prepared dishes, great conversation, and shared generosity. It was a beautiful example of how coming together can make a meaningful impact for an important cause.

As we enter the holiday season, we are reminded of how meaningful family, connection, and shared moments truly are. Today felt like our own special “bring your kid to work day” as our Executive Director, Shawn Jervis, welcomed his son, Captain Paul Jervis of the United States Marine Corps. Captain Jervis shared his military story with our residents, offering education, inspiration, and heartfelt moments of togetherness. We are grateful for his time, his service, and the joy he brought to our community today.
