🎉 Celebrating Our Associates of the Year! 🎉

Please join us in congratulating Shirley and Manny, our Associates of the Year! Both are key components of our community and truly set the standard for the rest of our team.

Shirley, one of our dedicated housekeepers, has been part of the Watermark family for an incredible 31 years. When asked what she loves most about working here, she shared:
"Talking with the residents and understanding them, and the staff."

Manny, our wonderful valet, has been with us for a little over a year and has already made a great impact. His favorite part of working here is "the people that I get to interact with every day."

After two weeks of friendly competition, laughter, and unforgettable moments, we officially closed out our Watermark Winter Olympics ❄️🏅

Our closing ceremony was the perfect finale: complete with our ‘Olympic flame’ being put out by one of our skiers, awards presented by Executive Director Maddie, medals being given by our Community Life team, and residents and associates proudly coming up to celebrate and collect their prizes.

This event brought so much energy and connection to our community, and safe to say… people are already asking when the next Olympics will be 👀💙

Although Valentine’s Day has passed, the spirit of connection and love continues to shine in our community 💕 Thank you to one of our wonderful resident families for hosting a Valentine’s-themed bingo filled with laughter, smiles, and meaningful moments. They even brought thoughtful prizes for the winners, making the afternoon extra special, and a big thank you to our culinary team for providing delicious food for everyone to enjoy. It’s days like these that remind us how special it is to come together, create memories, and celebrate the joy of community.

We sure enjoyed our annual celebration of Mardi Gras with neighbors, family, and friends. On this Fat Tuesday, everyone was excited to throw some colorful beads, enjoy delicious King's Cake, don decorative Carnevale masks and we even had a juggler and a woman on stilts join in on the festivities!

Joann and Dick have called The Watermark at Bellevue home while celebrating an incredible 73 years of marriage, and this week their love story was shared with all of Seattle. ❤️

Their story aired on FOX 13 Seattle, where Dick serenaded Joann and the two reflected on the beautiful life they’ve built together.

Generations Woven Together: Resident Spotlight – Lavina Burner

Today we’re celebrating Lavina, whose love of quilting began more than 50 years ago with a quilt lovingly made by her mother. In this special photo, Lavina holds a picture of her mom alongside that original quilt, a treasured piece of family history that continues to inspire her.

Quilting remains a meaningful part of Lavina’s life. She gathers with friends twice a week to sew, share stories, and keep the tradition alive. Her passion has even been passed down to her daughter, creating a beautiful thread that connects three generations.

We’re honored to also feature one of Lavina’s own quilts, a reflection of the artistry, dedication, and heart she brings to our community.

Love was in the air this week! Our Community Life team had so much fun hosting a Valentine’s Day themed kissing booth filled with photo ops, laughter, and sweet treats. Residents and associates stopped by to snap pictures, share smiles, and of course grab a handful of Hershey's Kisses!

Moments like these are what make our community so special; simple, fun, and full of connection. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the event extra memorable. ❤️
