We had a big day in Olympia

Over 100 kids, families, caregivers, and clinicians gathered for Have a Heart for Kids Day, including more than 30 staff from Seattle Children’s.

Together with amazing partners like Children’s Alliance, and others, we met with legislators to speak up for what kids and families need most.

We’re so proud of our teams who showed up, spoke up, and stood up for health equity and economic justice, especially for those who are too often left out.

Thank you to everyone who made it possible.

On Tuesday, Jan. 13, Kyesha, OBCC’s Sickle Cell Program Manager; Deborah, a Seattle Children’s Center for Health Outcomes Consultant; and Tim, a Seattle Children’s CMDB Discovery analyst, came together for a meaningful panel discussion titled “Where Do We Go From Here?” The conversation was inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s call to reflect on our progress, face ongoing challenges, and work together toward a more just and compassionate future.

We are deeply grateful to our panelists and moderator for sharing their voices, lived experiences, and dedication. Through their work and leadership, they honor Dr. King’s legacy every day by strengthening community, advancing equity, and helping create a more compassionate future for the children and families we serve.
