I posted this on another page two days ago. It is still relevant so I post it here as well.

I’ve been thinking, why is it that China, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore and other East Asian countries have been able to reduce and partially control the spread of the Corona virus?

This starkly contrasts with the spread in Europe and the USA. Biomedicine has very little to offer in terms of treatments. Essentially the virus is allowed to progress unhindered.

All the countries I mention above have a tradition of taking Chinese herbal medicines. Most likely people purchase and self prescribe Chinese herbal formulas, such as those recommended by the Chinese government. This may form the first barrier preventing the virus from replicating or if a person is infected, possibly enable the immune system to counteract the virus. The Shang Han school and Wen Bing school are both based on texts essentially dealing with viruses. Viruses were first found around the beginning of the 20th century. Pasteur invented vaccination without knowing about viruses. In other words, it is not necessary for a medicine to specifically know all details about a pathogen to heal disease.
