Vinegar Natural Health Series Part 5: Quick probiotic pickles in Anti-Inflammaging Breakfast:

🌿Cooling lemon cucumbers
🌿Herb-roasted, quick-pickled beets
🌿GF toast with avocado, pesto, and pickled red onion

Dr. Gina’s Basil-Nasturtium Pesto:
-3 cups fresh basil leaves
-1 cup fresh nasturtium leaves/stems
-6 peeled garlic cloves
-3/4 cup pine nuts
-1/2 cup walnuts
-1 cup EVOO
-1/2 cup Parmigiano Reggiano (or cashews)
-1/4 tsp sea salt
-1/4 tsp cracked pepper
-Juice of 1 lemon
-Process until smooth, freezes well. Great for tossing into cooked pasta, on vegetables, or mixing into mayonnaise/spreads.

Vinegar Natural Health Series Part 4 :: clarifying hair rinses

While I love great hair products, build up can leave hair feeling dull or weighted down. Concerning signs include dandruff, rash, hair loss, and dry/brittle hair.

Try rinsing with diluted apple cider vinegar or add a drop of dish soap and a bit of baking soda for monthly deep clarifying followed by a clear rinse and deep conditioning (smashed avocado with honey is fab). 1:1 ACV with lemon juice spray adds subtle, sun-kissed highlights.

Bonus: hair and scalp skin health is supported by phytonutrients with anti inflammatory and anti-microbial benefits. Hair visibly brightens with less tangles and waves/curls bounce.

It’s ok if you fall apart sometimes. S’mores fall apart, and we still love them.

Please sir, can I have s’more? If a marshmallow holds it all together (we said it), it’s important to do it right. Here are some quick tips to achieve marshmallow perfection:

🔥 For the light golden-brown color and a perfectly cooked interior, you want to find the subtle flames at the base of the fire and be patient.

🔥 There is a season (turn, turn, turn) …Frequently turn the marshmallow as it hovers over the embers rather than the flames.

🔥 Putting a marshmallow over the flames will result in what appears to be a fast-cooking method, but the quick exposure will simply char the outside, leaving the inside tough and cool. Do you like it charred? You be you.

🔥 Caution. You may be tempted to swing the roasting stick back and forth at a rapid pace. This may cause the marshmallow to launch and stick to the forehead of your friend. Former friend? Avoid launching flaming marshmallows. A metaphor for life, right there.

P.S. OMG there's s’more? Safety first! Be sure to follow proper campfire procedures when tending to and putting out your fires. Once you've finished toasting, be sure to drown the campfire in water, stir with a shovel to bury it, and repeat until the fire is fully out.

Onward to canning dilly beans and berry-rhubarb jam for all-season flavor. 🫐
