As of August 18th, 2025, our physical office is permanently closed. We are actively looking for a new location in the Bellevue area, but as of right now, we have not secured a space.

My office manager, Roz, and I continue to operate business as usual - our main phone and fax numbers continue to be active, and I am seeing patients virtually during normal business hours.

If you are looking to establish care, please call us at 425-452-9366 or email us at info@drvwilkie.com with your concerns, and we will respond with times and dates where we can best accommodate you with a telehealth appointment.

If you are an established patient, please continue to reach out to our office as usual.

We hope to update you with our new location soon and thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we navigate through this unexpected and challenging time.

I was impressed with this podcast with Dr. Antonio Bianco, MD. He confirms many of the thoughts I convey to my patients when it comes to managing hypothyroidism with or without T3 therapy. I was also impressed with his assessment that many hypothyroid symptoms could actually be caused by other diagnoses, such as menopause or nutrient deficiency. I encourage you to either listen to the podcast or read the attached transcript. If you would like to explore options for your current medication regimen, please contact my office and set up an appointment to get started!

Debate continues on whether combination therapy or T4 alone is the best treatment for hypothyroidism Dr. Kaniksha Desai interviews Dr Antonio Bianco on the best treatment option.

A little bit of physician humor to show patients what we deal with on the back end 🙂

CoverMyMeds is a widely used physician website used to start the pre-authorization process for medications not on a patient’s insurance formulary. I was typing in the first three letters of the medication “Victoza”, and look at the first thing that popped up.

I’m not sure which specialty of medicine would use Victoria’s Secret Vanilla Lace liquid, but I’m open for suggestions. Enjoy!

If you’re a patient of mine, you know you’ve heard me talk about this book.

As part of the holistic view to health, the doctor must look at the “why” and the “how” of hormonal and neurotransmitter imbalance and misuse. This book discusses how trauma, not just restricted to childhood, can shape how our brain responds to stress. If we are continually subjected to trauma, whether it be an event or abuse, we can subject our immune system and adrenal glands to mismanagement of hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline, leading to chronic disease.

This book touches upon the physical ways this can manifest: fibromyalgia, IBS, chronic pain, and many more things that I see on a daily basis in clinical practice. This is very lay-person written, and technical terms are made very relatable by this author.

As you can tell, I’m engrossed enough in it, that I’ve included it in my Memorial Day lakeside getaway :-)

Iron supplementation is essential for some people, especially those with anemia associated with menstrual blood loss, or malabsorption from Celiac disease. But most times, patients experience GI effects that leave one unable to have a healthy bowel movement. There are other options to get iron repletion that do not require pills. The Lucky Iron Fish, along with the cast iron skillet, are ways that you can work around the side effects of oral iron pills. Explore this option below - make an appointment to learn about even more options to bring iron blood levels up.

The Lucky Iron Fish is a small iron cooking tool that infuses your meals with iron to help prevent iron deficiency and anemia. It’s simple to use, and provides a natural source of iron for everyone, including athletes, vegetarians, vegans, women and mothers. With every purchase, we give one to a f...

I recorded a 9-minute video as a way to check in with my followers and patients- to let you know how my practice is handling the COVID situation, and a few of my rambling thoughts. It was also a way to really see how many times I say "um" in a short amount of time :-)

Many people, including many of patients, have taken this in the recent past to help with heartburn. It's a proven and inexpensive way to help with short-term discomfort. We've been hearing about this potential cancer-causing substance, called NDMA, possibly being in these products. Now the FDA is requiring both brand name Zantac and generic ranitidine to be pulled off the market.
If you take this product on a regular basis, and would like to discuss options on what else you could use for your heartburn, please make an appointment to discuss your concerns, and see what we can come up for you regarding treatment.

I've created a new blog post on my website, looking at (relatively) new blood pressure guidelines, and my general thoughts on these. Please check it out and make an appointment if you have concerns about your blood pressure and heart health!

In 2017, new guidelines were posted about who should and should not be taking blood pressure medication. I present some of my thoughts on these changes.

As a cat owner myself, I see a tremendous health advantage to owning a cat, and pets in general. The frequency and tone emitted by a cat's purr has been shown to lower blood pressure and improve mood. Plus, the sheer joy of bonding with an animal is a feeling like no other! So if you have a kitty, be sure to give them an extra hug...if they'll let you! Post pics of you and your cat if you'd like, and let's spread some happy vibes! I'll start by posting one in the comments of me and my little girl, Milkshake.
