Skate for 51 – Benefit Skate for Josh Torrey update.
To the Omaha Hockey Community, Family and Friends that donated/participated in the benefit skate for Josh Torrey.
First, I want to apologize for the late post. We were still getting donations for Josh after the skate and I wanted to make sure I included those donations as well. Second, I want to thank all of you for a tremendous outpouring of support and love for Josh … he really was humbled by this event and did not expect the large turnout. The Omaha Hockey Community is more than a “Beer League” … we are about taking care of our own in good and bad times!
The tournament went well. After several years of doing the 3v3 with goalies … we are sure that 3 games per team is plenty of ice time. Everyone seemed to enjoy the skate, and the tournament went smooth (other than my mistake on not getting the schedules out to each team) But you all went with it, and we figured it out. Thank you!
In total the skate raised $5,089 for Josh.
I know Josh and his family appreciate you all and your generous support during his journey to recovery.
