Margaret Trent's 'Cosmic Chrysanthemum' is on display as part of our "Guild of Natural Science Illustrators Northwest" exhibition. "Chrysanthemums are native to East Asia and northeastern Europe. They generally symbolize friendship, happiness and well-being. The arrangement of the petals in this drawing reminded me of a galaxy, hence the name 'Cosmic Chrysanthemum.'"

Have a look at "The Golden Years - Beagle" from acrylics artist Brandi Reyna, who often works in a series based on specific animals, color theory, or a particular theme. Brandi mixes her own colors from a basic color palette, starting with a bright underpainting so that little patches of color peek through. Each painting takes multiple sittings to bring in more detail as she builds upon previous layers. This beautiful piece is on display as part of our current art exhibition.

Sue Hampton's "Creekside Blossoms" is now on display as part of our "The Artistry of Watercolor" art exhibition. According to Sue, "Creekside Blossoms was painted as a response of spring emerging from winter's grip. The vibrant colors and exuberance of rushing water evoke the promise of renewal."

Our current art exhibition features Suze Woolf's "South Park Crane." “Along the Duwamish River in South Park is a favorite plein air location. At one riverfront park there are often old barges and other marine equipment, including this graffiti-ed crane. While I love to paint beautiful landscapes, I’m also drawn to such non-traditional subject matter such as old maritime industrial equipment.” "The Artistry of Watercolor" will be on display through November 16 at The Gardens at Town Square!

"The Artistry of Watercolor" is our current art exhibition, and Julie Rackley's "The New Couple" is a beautiful example of the form. "Owls have such expressive faces. Remember when you were the “new person” and wondering ‘will I like them; will they like me?’ These owls are pondering the same question. Are they the new people or are they awaiting the new arrivals?"

Our newest art exhibition, "The Artistry of Watercolor," showcases the mastery and versatility of watercolor, and is a can't-miss! Shown here is "Rainbow Trout" from Laurie Kathleen Clark. "This acrobatic Rainbow Trout not only sports an impressive array of colors but makes a splash as he leaps from the water. "Brusho," powdered pigments used to paint the splash, were a wonderful choice. As the pigments mingle with the water, you never really know what you will get."
