This young myopic patient has been wearing Orthokeratology lenses (hard overnight contacts) since 2021.

Before starting his Ortho-k treatment, the patient's vision was considered as highly myopic (nearsighted) for his age. His uncorrected vision was barely 20/400 (which is one big letter). Using the OCULUS Pentacam and WAVE software, we scanned and fit custom Ortho-k lenses to the unique curvature and topography of his corneas.

This patient now sees 20/20 without needing corrective lenses during the day!

Studies have shown that Orthokeratology lenses can help slow down the progression of myopia 50% or more.

The image immediately below shows this patient's axial curvature view of his cornea before Ortho-k correction. The second image shows a tangential curvature view of the cornea after a year of using custom Ortho-k lenses.

What type of lens is this??

This is a custom Orthokeratology lens! Using the OCULUS Pentacam, our amazing doctors are able to design a custom lens for overnight wear. OrthoK contacts are hard lenses that people sleep in at night which temporarily re-shape the cornea so most patients do not need to wear any corrective lenses during the day!
