About the talk:
Early Indian History is badly distorted. In our textbooks it is mentioned that the Aryans migrated to India and they initiated important cultural and technological developments in South Asia and wrote Vedas. This theory was based on unscientic and unfounded speculations. We have generated new Archaeo-Genetic data from the Harappan site of Rakhigarhi for the first time that has not only seriously challenged Aryans Invasion/Migration theory but also indicates that the Indians first began to move out to different directions. This research has serious implications on issues like various cultural, technological and scientific developments in South Asia, peopling of South Asia and Vedic Culture in Early Indian History.
Dr. Vasant Shinde is an eminent Archaeologist from Pune presently working as Director General, Maritime Heritage Complex, Gandhinagar. He will share his experiences and first hand interpreations of the findings of Rakhigarhi.
