Being a mom shaped her future. Camilla Som became a mom while still in high school—and began training at Dialysis Education Services around the same time. With the support of her family (including her father and our CEO, Michael Morales), Camilla turned that pivotal moment into a foundation for her future.

She’s now a nurse, dialysis educator, and proud DES alum—showing what’s possible when determination meets opportunity.

Our Dialysis Technician program is approved for the MyCAA Scholarship, which provides up to $4,000 in tuition assistance for eligible military spouses.

Because military life often involves moving, we’ve made sure our program can support spouses no matter where they live. We’re proud to train future dialysis technicians across the country — not just here in California.

This story is nothing short of inspiring, and I’m truly honored to have crossed paths with this man. In the past year and a half, sitting down with soldiers like him, Marc, Justin, Jimmy, and Walid has taught me more about resilience, purpose, and humanity than I ever imagined possible in my lifetime. Their journeys and your work are a testament to the incredible impact one person can have on this world.
