Listening to the body is an evalation strategy I use with every client I see. I find this tool invaluable because it allows for the intelligence of the body to take center stage. It opens up a world of information that our rational and logical minds cannot fully grasp.
General listening is performed in standing. General listening gives me information on the primary area I need to address to currently help my client. Local listening is then performed with the client lying down. This is a precise listening to determine the exact structure and restriction to be treated. A nerve will feel "buzzy", an organ hollow or dense and may have turgor, an artery will have a pulse, peritoneum feels like it spreads and is slippery, and a ligament or facia will feel flat and spread.
Do you have a nagging tension pattern or long term pain that won't go away? Want to get to the root cause and find out what your body has to say about it? Reach out with questions or to book an appointment!
