Who says exercise has to feel like exercise? 💪✨
At our skilled nursing facility, we’re always finding creative ways to keep therapy fun and engaging — and lately, the yoga ball has been a big hit!
Residents gather to take turns kicking or pushing the ball — turning strength and mobility exercises into a fun, interactive activity. These simple movements help improve leg strength, coordination, range of motion, and balance, all while feeling more like a game than a workout.
When exercise is enjoyable and purposeful, participation increases and confidence grows. Our team loves seeing residents smile, laugh, and encourage one another while staying active and working toward their goals.
Movement is medicine — and sometimes all it takes is a colorful yoga ball to get everyone rolling! 🟢

🖤❤️It’s Flannel Friday! ❤️🖤
Every Friday, our team brings the cozy vibes by rocking their best flannel looks — from classic red plaid to bold and creative styles. It’s a fun way to boost morale, spark some friendly competition, and bring even more warmth into our building.
The best part? Each week, the staff member with the most fabulous flannel wins our very official (and very tiny) Flannel Friday Trophy! 🏆 The winner gets bragging rights for the week — and the honor of passing the trophy on to the next Friday’s champion.
It’s amazing how something as simple as wearing flannel can bring so many smiles to our residents and staff alike. We love creating moments of fun while continuing to provide excellent care every day.

Today we’re celebrating an incredible milestone! 🎉
One of our amazing rehab patients has officially reached their therapy goals — and we are so proud of the strength, determination, and positivity they showed every step of the way! From day one, Tammi committed to the process, and her hard work truly paid off.
Through physical and occupational therapy, along with the support of our dedicated nursing staff, Tammi made remarkable progress and achieved meaningful independence. Every milestone — big and small — led to this moment of success.
And the celebration doesn’t stop there! After completing rehab, Tammi has chosen to continue her journey with us in long-term care. We are honored that she feels at home here, and excited to continue seeing her beautiful smile as she says "Hello" to everyone she passes. 😄

Last month's 50/50 winner received $64, meaning $64 also went towards fun activities for residents and staff. Will the pot grow bigger this month? 💰️ Stop by our front desk to purchase your tickets today!

Reminder of how our monthly raffle works: Each month one of our departments will put together a raffle basket filled with goodies. Staff, residents, and visitors will be able to purchase tickets. At the end of the month, two lucky winning tickets will be drawn. The first ticket will win 50% of the collected ticket money, and the second winner will win the raffle basket! The remaining money collected will be split between our Employee Party Fund and the Resident Activity Fund (Outings, haircuts/clothes for those without family, etc.).

🧠Using Our Noggins🧠
We had so much fun today playing a “Name 5” brain game! 🧠✨
Residents were challenged to name five items in different categories — from types of fruit 🍎 to famous singers 🎤 to things you’d find at the beach 🏖️. The room was filled with laughter, friendly competition, and some impressive quick thinking!
Activities like this aren’t just fun — they help keep minds active, spark memories, and encourage social connection. It’s always amazing to see everyone cheering each other on and sharing stories that come up along the way. We can’t wait to play again! 💙

🌸 Stopping to Smell the Flowers — Even in Winter 🌸
Even though it’s winter outside, we’re still finding ways to stop and smell the flowers.
Thanks to generous weekly donations from Trader Joes, seasonal arrangements brighten the day, add beautiful color to our spaces, and bring a touch of spring to the colder months. Residents enjoy gathering around fresh floral displays, helping arrange bouquets, and simply taking a quiet moment to appreciate their beauty and fragrance. 💐
These small moments of slowing down — even in the heart of winter — can lift spirits, spark memories, and create meaningful conversations. ❄️

💌❤️ Valentine’s Day Fun at North Cascades! ❤️💌
Love and creativity were in the air this week as our residents gathered to make Valentine’s Day cards! With colorful paper, glitter, stickers, and lots of laughter, everyone put their own special touch on each card.
From sweet messages to heartfelt designs, these creations are more than just cards — they’re little bundles of joy made with care. Some will be shared with family and friends, and others will brighten the days of fellow residents and staff.
