Job Overview
We’re seeking a compassionate, dedicated Clinical Therapist to join our dynamic and growing team. This role includes providing outpatient therapy to individuals, children/adolescents, couples, and/or families — either in-office (Lynden) or via telehealth. Clinicians have the freedom to choose their ideal client population and specialties, including (but not limited to): anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, Brainspotting, relationship issues, faith based and more.

Client Population: Please note that a significant portion of our clients request faith-based counseling as part of their therapeutic services.

Compensation
• $45 per 90837 session (hour session)
• $33.75 per 90834 (45 min session)
• $22.50 per 90832 (30 min session)
• $60 per 90791 intake (1 hour session and 30 mins of paperwork)
• Training pay during first month: $25/hour (to learn our systems)
• Free weekly supervision (individual and group)

Minimum Requirements
• Master's Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy
• Active Washington State Associate License (LMHCA, LMFTA, LICSWA)
• Reside in Washington State
• Willing and able to hold at least 20 client sessions per week (provided by the center)
Note: We’re open to considering recent or soon-to-be graduates who are in the process of becoming credentialed.

Preferred Qualifications
• Membership with professional organizations (e.g., AAMFT, NBCC)
• Willingness to maintain CEUs and licensure requirements

Job Responsibilities
1. Provide high-quality individual, couples, and/or family therapy (in-person or telehealth).
2. Maintain current licensure and uphold all professional ethical standards.
3. Collaborate with clients' care teams (e.g., P*Ps, psychiatrists, schools) as needed.
4. Complete clinical documentation (intake, progress notes, treatment plans, etc.) on the same day — we encourage in-session note-taking so your evenings are free!
5. Attend mandatory meetings and trainings.
6. Contribute positively to our team culture — respectful, collaborative, and professional.
7. Allow your image and bio to be published on our website and on Psychology Today.
8. Stay available for at least 48 working weeks per year, with the flexibility to see more than 20 clients/week if desired.

Clinical Therapist Job Description:
Hope & Thrive Counseling Center is a community of helping professionals working to enhance the mental well being of kids, adults, families, and couples in our community. We are an encouraging, dynamic, and collaborative group of clinicians who value working collaboratively and helping improve the health and wellness of our communities.
Clinical therapist will provide outpatient individual and/or group therapy to patients of Hope & Thrive Counseling Center, located in Lynden and/or Bellingham, Washington (telehealth: reaching all of Washington). Clinical therapy services include treatment of adults, adolescents/children, couples and families. Treatment specialties may include but not limited to: Individual, children, couples, family, trauma, life transitions, anxiety, depression and/or Brainspotting, etc. The Clinician has the freedom to choose their specialties and population they want to work with.

Positions Opened:
1 position opened in the Bellingham Office (minimum of 20 sessions per week)
1 position opened in the Lynden Office (minimum of 20 sessions per week)

Reports to: Owner and/or Clinical Director: Amanda Shannon MA LMFT

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

• Must live in Washington State and

• Master’s Degree in psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy or social work; and

• Active, unrestricted Associate level license (LCSWA, LMFTA, or LMHCA) in the State of Washington. A copy must be provided to Hope & Thrive Counseling Center. (Note: will consider recent master’s degree graduate or soon to be graduate) and

• Available to hold at least 20 patient sessions per week, provided such sessions are available and referred/scheduled by Hope & Thrive Counseling Center.

Other Qualification Preferences:
• Be affiliated with Affiliates (i.e. AAMFT, NBCC)

• Maintain CEUs and/or other needs to maintain licensing requirements

Hours:
Work hours and schedule may vary depending on Clinician/Patient and Hope & Thrive Counseling Center needs/availability. Hours are flexible. Therapist is not guaranteed a minimum number of patients or sessions per week. However, it is expected that Clinician will be available to hold at least 20 client hours or more per week (960 cx encounters/sessions per yr), provided such sessions are available and referred/scheduled by Hope & Thrive Counseling Center. Patient sessions are held in the offices of Hope & Thrive Counseling Center or online. Therapist is expected to work 48 weeks per year. Hours are set by office availability. Therapist may see more than 20 clients a week if they would like to.

Compensation:
For Associate level Mental Health Counselors: 45 dollars per 90837. The first 3 months you will be paid 25 dollars per training hour the first month. Free Clinical Supervision from a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (14 yrs of experience). One group supervision a week and one individual supervision a week. Hope and Thrive focuses on the development of the therapist to find and build their strengths and counseling niche. Flexible hours. You can also pick your own vacation times and take sick leave when needed. It is like being in private practice while being in a supportive group practice. You will earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 40 hours you work; paid out at your normal pay rate. We have 5 health plans to pick from. You will receive 250 dollars per month to go towards the plan you choose. You will also get 5 dollars monthly towards vision and 25 dollars monthly towards dental plan. You will be a W2 employee thus Hope and Thrive pays for the employee tax and all overhead.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform on-site/telehealth clinical counseling services to patients of Hope & Thrive Counseling Center, as scheduled, and in accordance with company policies.

2. Regular and reliable attendance and timely arrival to work is required.

3. Be properly licensed and abide by all laws, rules, regulations, and codes of ethics that are binding upon or applicable to the services performed for Hope & Thrive Counseling Center.

4. Communicate with a patient’s treatment team (i.e., P*P, psychiatrist, school, etc.) as necessary.

6. Timely complete written records for each patient including, but not limited to: intake notes, progress notes, treatment plans, termination notes, contract notes, and other forms or documents which may be needed or required from time-to-time by Hope & Thrive Counseling Center or third parties in conjunction with the treatment of the patient within a timely fashion. Keep patient files accurate and up to date. It is highly recommended to do notes in session. All notes are due same day. This helps the clinician be able to leave work at work and go home and enjoy their lives.

7. Attend mandatory staff meetings and training as directed by Hope & Thrive Counseling Center.

8. Conduct and regulate counseling services in a professional manner so as to maintain and increase the good will and reputation of Hope & Thrive Counseling Center and yourself. Be respectful of and cooperative and collaborative with co-workers.

9. Other duties which may by assigned by Hope & Thrive Counseling Center.

10. Allow your image and bio to be published on Psychology Today and Hope & Thrive Counseling Website.
