What a perfect evening for a concert in the park! One of our favorite summer activites - dancing and tapping our feet along to some great music!

A sunny afternoon well spent at Laurel Lavender Farm! We walked through fragrant fields of lavender, ate lavender ice cream, and pet some adorable bunnies. We learned about the process of turning lavender into oil, and how much work it really is! It is so nice to have places like this close to home ☀️🪻

Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸 We had a festive day of celebration filled with music, sunshine, and delicious food! In the afternoon, residents enjoyed a concert by the local band, Wild Hearts, singing patriotic favorites while sipping on lemonade, or spiked lemonade for those feeling a little extra festive.

Later, our patio transformed into a BBQ buffet dinner, thanks to our amazing kitchen and dining staff. Nothing says Independence Day like a picnic-style feast!

Here’s to community, celebration, and summer traditions. ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸

This week, our community came alive with creativity as we hosted a stunning art gallery showcasing the incredible talents of our residents. From painting and photography, to quilting, sculpture, mosaics, embroidery, and more — the variety and craftsmanship on display was truly impressive.

It was inspiring to see how many different forms of art our residents enjoy, and how much talent lives right here in our community. Thank you to everyone who contributed their work and came out to support — it was a great reminder of how much creativity and passion our residents bring to life at The Willows.

Our beautiful back patio was full of laughter and friendly competition today as residents enjoyed games of co****le under the sunny Bellingham skies. There's nothing better than fresh air, good company, and a little bit of healthy competition!

We are incredibly proud to share that our very own resident, Dr. David Beatty—known as Dr. Dave—has been honored with the Community Partner of the Year Award from Bellingham Public Schools! At 89 years young, Dr. Dave continues to inspire students across Bellingham with his lifelong passion for ocean science and salmon education. A retired professor from the University of Alberta, he has dedicated decades to supporting hands-on learning in classrooms through his work with Salmon in the Classroom Bellingham, the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife, and the Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association (NSEA). Thanks to his efforts, every elementary school in Bellingham Public Schools now has a salmon tank, giving students a chance to learn about biology, environmental stewardship, and the salmon life cycle in a meaningful, hands-on way. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Beatty on this well-deserved recognition, we are so lucky to have you at The Willows! 👏

On a sunny May day, we took a trip to Fairhaven to see the Blue Heron Rookery! We saw a few nests, a mama and her four babies. We finished the outing with a trip into a gelato shop… but we were too busy snacking to capture the moment!
