Doulas of Bellingham

Doulas of Bellingham Bellingham's original premier doula group! Doulas of Bellingham is proud to be Whatcom County's first full service doula agency. Two doulas are better than one!

Last year Molly Seimears and Christi Banks partnered together to raise the bar in doula support in Whatcom County. They knew that a unified effort could enhance the birth community, and those that they serve. After a year in planning, Doulas of Bellingham was born in an effort to fill the need for professional, reliable, and unbiased support from conception and beyond. Owners Christi & Molly saw that both families, and doulas, benefited from working in a team setting. Having a team of two doulas ensures you always have someone by your side, and attentive to your needs. If one of your doulas is away at a labor or sick, the other is still readily available to you. You never go without our knowledgeable and compassionate care. A coordinated effort to best serve you. Doulas of Bellingham is proud to offer a system that insures reliable and consistent care. The agency model enhances confidence in our clients when they know there is always a trusted birth professional available to serve their pregnancy or postpartum needs. Working together as an agency means we have a diverse skill base and multiple doulas staying current on the ever-changing information available to new parents. You can be confident in knowing all our birth professionals are equipped to support you however you see fit. In order to ensure that all birth professionals affiliated with Doulas Of Bellingham provide the same level of quality and unbiased care, every doula has been trained by ProDoula. This training organization is unlike any other, promoting truly non-judgmental support and actively building bridges with the hospitals and providers we work alongside.

After 7 years of having the pleasure of supporting local families, we have decided to permanently close our doors. We are immensely grateful for the hundreds of clients and students over the years, and for the opportunity to work with so many amazing care providers.

As you may have noticed things have been pretty quiet the past 2 years. Owner Christi relocated the prior year, and I (Molly) was on an extended leave of absence. Although I was able to continue to support a small handful of friends and former clients, I have largely taken a step back from full time doula work. After being on call for the majority of the prior 6 years this change of pace has been a welcomed change for my family.

I hope to continue to support friends and former clients, if asked. I have a great love for this profession and don't wish to step away altogether. But at this time I will not be seeking new clients or teaching classes.

Thank you again for all your support over the years!

Sleep deprivation is real. To everyone experiencing it, this is for you. For anyone who has live through it, this is for you. You don't have to suffer.

Sleep deprivation is NOT something new parents should be made to suffer through. Doulas of Raleigh co-owner Kelly Rutan shares her own struggles as an exhausted new parent and how that experience led her to want more for you.
