A long time ago I wrote an article for the Journal of Chinese Medicine called, “The ‘Runner’s Point’: An Extra Point for the Treatment and Prevention of
Lower Leg Injuries in Athletes.”
just made an AI comic all on its own and sent it to me, complete with a typo. (If AI is so great, why can’t it spell?) Still kinda fun. 🤩 It was the running community (and their injuries) that inspired me to go deep in the study of pain management and injury treatment and recovery, and how I came upon this “extra” point.

Twenty-five years ago today I hung out my shingle and began seeing patients in Bellingham. I’ve learned and grown so much in that time and have tremendous gratitude for the occupation and life I have chosen, and also for the support of my colleagues and patients near and far.

My beloved teachers have been many and even with 25 years behind me, I continue to study and deepen my understanding of Chinese medicine every day—most recently in the realm of Medical Qi Gong and Shamanic Chinese medicine. Qi gong is one of the five branches of Chinese medicine and the study I’ve done over this past year and the next several years to come will round out my practice and knowledge and help me be a better practitioner and part of this community.

Thank you for your continued trust in my services over all this time!
