In memory of our brave son Dominic, a fighter from the start who fought the good fight. 💛 Our son, Dominic, was born 16 weeks premature in May 2001. He spent his first 6 months of life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Seattle, WA. When he was discharged to come home, it was with a 2-week to 2-month total life expectancy. Despite a lifetime of medical complications and countless ambulance rid
es and hospitalizations, he lived a life with bravery. He brought joy to all that met him, and he fought the good fight. Dominic died in April 2015, after being on hospice for only 11 days. He died 3 weeks before his 14th birthday. Several months after his death, we had a rummage sale. I sold a few of his medical supplies, and literally felt sickened to see his things go away and look down to see $25 in my hand from somebody who desperately needed those supplies. From then on, I have been sourcing out supplies to those in need, free of charge. In memory of Dominic. In the first 2 weeks of February 2016 we brought 12 packages of briefs to a sweet young boy with Down syndrome, delivered 4 bags of Zevex pump bags to a joyful young boy with Menkes syndrome, and delivered 2 cases of bed pads to a young boy with Autism. We also have sent 6 boxes of supplies to the Honduras with a medical team. These supplies did not even begin to touch the surface of what we have (new, never used) in excess of what he used. Since starting Dominic's Closet, we have had donations from individuals in the community and around the United States who, like us, would be honored for people in need to receive free supplies in memory of Dominic and their loved ones. Our only goal is to source out medical supplies to those in need. We have now reached 38 states within the United States of America & 17 countries globally, and we continue to expand daily. Check back frequently for new, free listings. It is an honor to serve and give to those in need. In memory of Dominic. 💛
