There is always hope. Obviously, everyone does not experience hope all of the time. There is plenty of hope for everyone but often individuals need help finding a source of hope. As we give hope away, hope is increased both in our life as well as in those we give to. This book, AUTHENTIC HOPE by Arnold J. Allen, was written to increase the understanding of hope as well as discover ways to facilitate the flow of hope into the lives of others. One current, primary focus is education. We have developed a hope building seminar: Hope Accelerator. This Seminar is focused on the application of teaching from the Authentic Hope book. A DVD series and Guide Book are currently in the development stages. As the publisher of Authentic Hope, proceeds of the sales fund the Increase Hope Foundation. The goal of the Foundation is to select, develop and fund specific hope building endeavors. One of various concerns is the suicidal thinking that pulls people toward a dark end. A very high percentage of people have considered suicide as a way to move out of difficult, painful life situations. Notably, suicide is the second leading cause of death in 15-29 year-olds globally. For every successful attempt, some researchers estimate there are 25 unsuccessful attempts and many others who think about it without action. Increase Hope Foundation intends to be part of the community addressing this and other issues that limit the quality of life. Allen is an author, speaker and educator. He and his wife Carol are the directors of Increase Hope Foundation, a non-profit, charitable 501(c) 3 organization and reside in Washington State. They enjoy life with their local community, four children and 12 grandchildren. They are available for local and international bookings. Bookings & Contact: http://www.IncreaseHope.com

Perfection isn’t the goal…connection is!

Embracing the goal of connection means saying, “No matter what our disagreement, I will always elevate the value of you and our relationship above it. At the end of this conversation we may still disagree, but my goal is that we will also still be connected.”

When you have the goal of connection, you show up to a conversation with a very specific set of communication tools.

So the next time you find yourself in a heated discussion or a challenging moment, remember: the goal isn't to win the argument, but to win each other's hearts. Because at the end of the day, it's not about being right; it's about being together. Choose connection over perfection.

December has been a time full of caring for Samuel’s Supper families! Your donations helped feed a large family whose needs were greater than what their local food pantry could accommodate. Your donations helped with utilities and a car payment when a family fell behind; their youngest baby girl had become sick and spent weeks in and out of the hospital with RSV and pneumonia. And two of our special volunteers gave their time and resources to provide Christmas gifts to siblings who lost their brother just a few short weeks ago.
This year with your support, the work of Samuel’s Supper has rallied around 18 families struggling financially during their child’s life-threatening illness. As we launch our largest fundraising campaign of the year this week - our 5th Annual Fundraising Campaign - more than anything we wish to thank you for your continued support of our mission!
If you’d like to receive a copy of our annual campaign letter in the mail please send us a private message with your address.
We also accept donations online (any time of the year : ) through Facebook and our website https://www.samuelssupper.org/donate
