💛What does it mean to let go—of expectations, control, or even the people we love?

This workshop offers a gentle, contemplative space to explore presence, impermanence, and love through Yin yoga and guided writing.

👉Yoga will be led by Kendall Tetsworth, with writing guided by Brenda Miller—author of six essay collections and the poetry chapbook The Daughters of Elderly Women, recipient of seven Pushcart Prizes, co-author of Tell It Slant and The Pen and the Bell, and Professor Emerita of Creative Writing at Western Washington University.

We’ll move through long-held Yin poses to quiet the nervous system, followed by short, accessible writing prompts focused on memory, gratitude, and release.

✨ All levels welcome
✨ No yoga or writing experience needed

Especially meaningful for those navigating caregiving, grief, or life transitions.

In the ancient yogic tradition, sound isn’t symbolic — it’s foundational🧘‍♂️

The Sanskrit word śabda means sound, vibration, and truth itself.

This weekend immersion is an invitation into the living practice of Vedic chanting — where mantra becomes a pathway to clarity, focus, and inner awakening.

Over five in-person modules, we’ll explore:
✨Vedic call-and-response chanting
✨Sanskrit as vibrational architecture — the 49 root sounds
✨Precise pronunciation and foundational grammar through a Vedic lens
✨Reciting three essential hymns (sūktam) from the Veda:

👉This immersion is designed for experienced teachers and curious seekers alike — anyone drawn toward the spiritual roots of yoga through sacred sound.

As spring unfolds and the days grow brighter, let’s move into the season with intention🌿

Spring is nature’s invitation to gently wake up — to shake off heaviness, make space, and reconnect with what’s ready to grow. This class is about soft renewal: slowing down enough to notice what you need, while supporting your body’s natural return to energy and ease.

We’ll start with a cozy restorative yoga practice to help your body unwind, then ease into a full yoga nidra — a guided “yogic sleep” meditation that melts away stress and helps you reconnect with yourself on a deeper level.

💛Come as you are — leave grounded, calm, and refreshed

In solidarity with the nationwide general strike on Friday, January 30th, BYC will host a Community Day, offering all yoga classes free of charge.
Lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu.

This yogic vow means: may all beings know peace and love.

No one is free until we are all free.

The lineage we preserve through our practice of yoga carries many prayers—past, present, and future. It is rooted in cultivating a careful and expansive awareness of our thoughts, feelings, and points of view. A core teaching reminds us that the root of suffering is perceived separation: separation from one another and separation from the infinite, ever-present source.

Freedom does not come from withdrawing from the world or distancing ourselves from what we disagree with. It arises through compassionate action, devotion, and deep care for all living beings—through recognizing our shared humanity and inherent union.

Let the sangha grow.
Let us engage peacefully and respectfully with one another.
Keep all families together.
Let us honor due process and uphold our Constitution.
