Upon entering the facility, John was met with significant challenges, including high blood pressure, unsteadiness, and limited endurance. What once seemed overwhelming became a journey of steady progress through dedication and perseverance. By confronting each obstacle one step at a time, he transformed setbacks into victories—eventually walking over 500 feet without the need for rest, regaining balance without reliance on a walking aid, and, with the support of proper medication, achieving healthy blood pressure levels. His journey stands as a powerful reminder that commitment and resilience can lead to remarkable recovery.

“My name is John and I am 59 years old. After a recent surgery at providence hospital, I was told I needed Physical Therapy. I was recommended to The Atrium of Bellmead. Well, I had some questions. Wasn’t that a nursing home? I didn’t know they did therapy. After conferring with family, I decided to do it. What a GREAT experience. Everyone I encountered was awesome. From my counselor to all of the staff. Trent and Shelby were amazing people who truly care about patients and their success in getting better and their overall wellbeing. My stay here has been nothing short of amazing. I would highly recommend. 5 out of 5 stars. Food not bad either!”

At The Atrium, the OmniCycle is one of our favorite therapy tools because it turns movement into something engaging, purposeful, and even fun.

🎮 More than pedaling — it’s interactive therapy:
• Residents can play built-in games that work on left/right discrimination, coordination, and increased output
• A soccer-style game gives visual goals to aim for, encouraging balanced effort and motivation
• A traffic-avoidance game is especially helpful for individuals post-stroke, challenging them to coordinate left vs. right movement while reacting to visual cues

🧠💪 Why therapists love it:
• Incredible biofeedback for neuro rehab, showing symmetry, effort, and output in real time
• Can be used for arms or legs
