After a career in Corporate Finance, and many years of informal patient advocacy for myself, friends and family, I decided to retire and embark on a career in Patient Advocacy to help others. I am a retired CPA, Certified Health Coach (specifically for Seniors), Certified Senior Advisor and Board Certified Patient Advocate. I help families with any of the following: communicating and coordinating with healthcare professionals, attending doctors visits and assisting in follow through, companion care at home or in facilities, obtaining home care services, home health aides (CNA), durable medical equipment, interviewing prospective caregivers, locating appropriate housing, including Assisted Living, Nursing Homes, Skilled Nursing Facilities, assessing the quality of care provided by caregivers, overseeing care in a Skilled Nursing Facility or Hospital, understanding and applying for health insurance, expediting appeals of claim denials, understanding, assessing and paying medical bills, transitioning home from skilled nursing facilities or hospitals, and many other aspects of elder care.
