We want to assure our patients that our offices (Bells & Whitewright) are open and available to continue providing our patients with excellent care! We have no plans of closing anytime soon and want to thank you for continuing to choose us as your provider.

We have a new phone system!
When you call the office you need to do the following:
Press 1 for English and 2 for Spanish, this makes our initial message shorter in that you don't have to listen to both languages.
Once you get past that you need to listen to the options, or if you know the number you can just press it at anytime during the message.
1 - Shedule an appointment (Mary)
2 - MA's (Carissa/Caitlin)
3 - Clinical Manager (Lisa G)
4 - Homebound Specialist (Rachel)
5 - Billing Specialist (Tracy)
6 - Office Manager (Lisa L)
Please note: you will not be able to leave a message on this general mailbox, you must choose a person to speak to and then leave them a message. They should get back to you within 24 hours.
Thanks for your patience and understanding as we all work through this change!

American Heart Month, observed every February since 1964, focuses on raising awareness about cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death in the U.S.. It encourages healthy lifestyle changes, such as, eating a better diet, staying active, and not smoking.
Tips for Heart Health
Know Your Risks: High blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoking, diabetes, and obesity are major risk factors.
Physical Activity: Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity per week.
Dietary Changes: Follow a diet low in sodium and saturated fats, focusing on fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
Preventative Measures: Learn CPR, as immediate action can significantly increase a cardiac arrest victim's survival rate.

As road conditions remain iffy, we want you to know that we are working on getting back in office. We do have limited staff today who are calling to reschedule. If you have an appointment tomorrow or Friday, please call before you come our way.
Mostly, stay warm, safe and we will see you at the thaw!

01/25/2026

Dr. Maniet has made the decision for the safety of our patients and staff to close the office tomorrow. If you are scheduled to come into the office, please know that we will call you as soon as possible to get you rescheduled. We have also sent out an alert to those on the schedule for tomorrow as well.
We will continue to monitor weather and let you know about re-opening the office as soon as the decision is made.
Please stay safe and warm and we will see you soon!

We are aware that most physicians do not make house calls. There are many people who are homebound and in need of medical care, and they are unable to see a physician in office.

We want you to know that Dr. Maniet makes house calls to homebound patients. We are exited to help our elderly and homebound community! If you know of anyone that is in need of this service, please have them reach out to us at 903-965-7700 or email Rachel, our homebound specialist, at rachel@drmaniet.net.

We wanted everyone to know that we are closely monitoring the weather outside, as well as the updates from our local stations.
We plan on being open tomorrow, but it might not be a bad idea to call before you come if the weather starts turning.
As far as Monday, we will continue monitoring, and let the patients who have scheduled appointments know either by text or voice mail as soon as the decision is made. Once we are back in office, if necessary, we will call you to reschedule.
Please be safe, warm, and take care of yourselves!

WINTER HEALTH AND YOU

How Cold Affects Your Body:
Immune System: Cold, dry air can dry out mucous membranes in your nose and throat, reducing your first line of defense against viruses.
Cardiovascular System: Blood vessels narrow in the cold, forcing the heart to work harder and increasing blood pressure, which elevates risks for heart attacks, strokes, and blood clots.
Respiratory System: Cold air can cause airways to constrict, making breathing harder for people with asthma.

Why Illness Spreads More:
Indoor Crowding: People spend more time indoors in close quarters, making it easier for germs to transfer.
Virus Survival: Some viruses thrive in colder, drier conditions.

Key Winter Health Tips:
Hydrate: Drink plenty of water to combat dryness, which helps skin and mucous membranes.
Dress in Layers: Protect extremities and cover up to help regulate body temperature and reduce cardiovascular stress.
Wash Hands: Frequent handwashing is critical for preventing germ spread.
Stay Active Safely: Warm up indoors before exercising outside and dress appropriately, as cold makes physical activity more demanding.
Get Vaccinated: Flu and COVID shots are important!
