Coming off a real nice stretch of fishing with a solid yellowfin bite, all ways really some days! Mostly bait and jig thing but we also got skippies around holding yellows with em if ya know what I'm saying?!! Few days of down time with some wind this week, which is killer, but taking the time to tighten A-LOT of screws and sharpen some hooks. 💪🏻💯🙏🏻

Saying goodbye to one hell of a summer! A sincere thank you to everyone who's fished with us thus far! If the YFT fishing continues we will stay on it into later this month on a week to week basis but with the calendar turning to October, this is where the brains at. Game on. LFG 👀

Clean release on a nice Yellowfin Tuna caught on the jig recently here in New Jersey! If this is something you've always wanted to do now's the time as fishing doesn't get much better! All tackle and bait provided. Let's go!

Sent a nice 75" bluefin to market yesterday. Fish ate a yellowfin jig setup, naturally. Despite that, along with 4-6ft seas, my guys kept their feet and put the screws to this fish in about an hour. We had a couple real nice YFT bites shortly before this fish, on the same drift, but we pulled hooks on three of those. Ride home was straight up gnarly but with a big smile anywho. 🤙🏻👌🏻🩸

Another one recently that didn't suck! Want to catch them like this?--stop trying to cherry pick your dates/ waiting for the bite to be good from one day to the next. Not only does that get you put on the bottom of the list but it's also not helping your odds fishing on social media. Take every opportunity you're able to and hop on with your go to captain! Now's the time.

Some good trips recently and some tough ones! Gotta go to know is all I can say--there's always going to be off days but from here to the end of October or so, your odds of landing some nice tuna on jigs and poppers are about as good as they are going to get here in NJ. Thankful for all my crews/ customers that love this s**t as much as I do. The rest of the August is pretty booked up but I do have weekday availability in September, LFG!

This past week I had the honor of hosting the crew from Japan to shoot footage for an episode of their show Salt Dreamer. Angler and his two man crew worked hard the entire 4 days we had them on the water. Friday we got them offshore for bluefin and yellowfin where we broke the ice after some searching with a bluefin on a popper followed by yellowfin on the jig. Saturday we ran deep again, finding incredible life but lacking tuna--we pushed on and were able to find YFT mixed with two tone dolphins and had a few great shots and blow ups on his popper but couldn't come tight. 0-4 Saturday. After getting the full Jersey midshore experience the first two days, the guys wanted an opportunity to tangle with big fish. We setup Sunday for big bluefin and got a bite within 10 minutes of fishing--because it wasn't on his rod chose to let my mate tangle with it and we shortly after broke the fish off as I was tying to get a harpoon ready while doing a s**tty job on the wheel. Hours later I was able to get another bite on a more manageable fish however the NLBN hook opened up and the hook pulled probably 15 ft from the boat. That was it for day 3. Day four we stayed committed to the big bluefin game plan running on fumes. We got to the grounds just about all alone at first light and had a bite within the first 15 minutes. went to work and proceeded to do battle with an estimated 80" or so fish for the next hour and change--my mate for the day was able to get a harpoon shot and we thought he got her good, however the dart pulled after a few minutes and shortly after we broke the mainline. Third heartbreaker in two days. Unfortunately we didn't get another bite on Monday and the south wind started cranking before the tide change and the afternoon bite never materialized. Overall I can't say I'm not disappointed we didn't put a big bluefin on deck for Suzuki and team however I am proud of what my mates and I were able to show the guys here in NJ. Hopefully it translates on camera well and everyone can get a chance to watch!

Great bluefin bite continuing the last two days. Fun size class fish in the 35-45" range. Some really incredible foaming blitz's' at times where we've just stayed in the moment and soaked it all in (thus the lack of video proof or live videos via starlink 🤦🏻‍♂️). If you want to get in on it please reach out--no experience or gear needed, we're all about teaching and fueling the stoke! We have some weekday availability in the next few weeks available for whole boat booking. If you don't have a crew please DM or text to get added to the Open Boat contact list.

Absolutely staggering amount of bluefin around at the moment. Yesterday we had an all star crew that beat on them from start to (early) finish. They went 21/24 on fish to 53” on jigs and top water. Great weather and a fleet of only a handful of the usual fishy suspects put the icing on the cake. We are so fortunate to have this fishery that is getting better and better every season. Come get in on it before winter hits!
