Movement on the court starts long before the swing!

Using Pilates equipment alongside tennis-specific patterns helps build awareness, rotation, balance, and control through the whole body, not just the arms. 💛

From grounded footwork to smooth rotational movement, these exercises support the coordination and efficiency that tennis demands. 🌿

A thoughtful way to explore how strength, mobility, and control come together in sport-specific movement.

The Pilates Teaser teaches so many movement lessons from your head to your toes, but one of the most important lessons is smooth, segmental movement throughout your spine.

Here’s a preparation exercise for the Teaser.

Cleaning up this preparation exercise will make the full teaser feel so much better. Some tips:
→ Gently push through your shoulders with straight elbows
→ Keep head in a continuous line with the spine
→ Let the shoulders soften away from the ears

Refining these details helps the movement feel stronger, more efficient, more connected, and more intentional. 🌿

3 ways to find your Swan 🦢

For many of us, hunching forward is a big part of the day. Consider swan an antidote to computer work and phone scrolling.

The challenge is to find segmental mobility throughout your spine. The exercise uses either spring resistance (or assistance) and asks you to extend at your upper back before your lower back.

Pilates gives you a moment to move with control, efficiency, intention, and self awareness.

Movement is medicine. Breathe, we got you.

Seated leg press is about steady support through your spine while the legs move with control.

A few common patterns to notice:
> Rocking forward and back as you press
> Sitting too far back so the spine arches as the legs move

Instead, think:
Stay grounded through your seat, keep your spine long and steady, and let the legs press and return with control from your center. 🌿

When the spine stays stable , the legs feels smoother, lighter, and stronger.

Feet in straps is all about an anchored pelvis, a long spine, and legs that float from a smooth hip hinge.

A few common movement patterns to look out for:
> Pelvis lifting off the mat as the legs rise up
> Pressing the low back down
> Letting the spine switch between arching and flattening instead of staying steady

Instead, think:
Let the pelvis stay grounded, keep the spine steady, and allow the legs to move with ease and control from your center. 🌿

Small refinements improve control, increase mobility, and give opportunities for more body awareness.
