For example, early warning signs of underlying health issues can be seen such as:
🔸Diabetes
🔸Hypertension
🔸Cholesterol
🔸Autoimmune disorders
🔸Metastatic cancers
🔸Inflammatory conditions

Routine eye exams not only protect your eyes and vision from harm but can protect your overall health by early detection and intervention.

💦What is Dry Eye?

49 million people in the US suffer from dry eyes! Approximately 1 in 100 adults struggle with moderate or severe dry eye. Dry eye disease is caused by abnormalities of the tear film. The tear film has three layers that coat the surface of the eyes and aid in providing clear vision while protecting the delicate and sensitive eye tissues. When these layers are imbalanced,
you have dry eye. Dry eye does not necessarily mean your eyes are "dry".

Symptoms can include:
💧chronically watery eyes
💧stinging
💧burning
💧gritty feeling
💧light sensitivity
💧redness
💧blurry vision or visual disturbance

Severe dry eye can be debilitating. It can lead to chronic pain, corneal scarring, and vision loss if not treated properly .

💦How is Dry Eye Managed or Treated?
🔘Scleral contact lenses
🔘Medications such as Restasis, Xiidra, Eyesuvis, etc
🔘Punctal Plugs
🔘Thermal pulsation systems such as iLux, Tearcare, Lipiflow
🔘Intense Pulse Light Therapy (IPL), OptiLight by Lumenis: the only FDA approved treatment for dry eye disease due to MGD.
