King-Johnson Adult Family Home is a state-licensed community-based residential assisted living facility that provides daily living supports to the elderly, frail and individuals with behavioral challenges and/or Developmental Disabilities. The home is in a quiet neighborhood close to parks, shopping and close to community resources. Our trained staff provides residents with person-centered individ

ualized care, supportive services and assistance with the activities of daily living (ADLs). Services may also include basic first aid and assistance with medication management. We provide delicious healthy meals based on residents’ nutritional needs. We are a four-bed facility and offer both semi-private and private rooms, a robust activity schedule and social opportunities for residents, and have communal areas for residents to enjoy. There is a vehicle onsite to provide transportation to outings and appointments. Our caregivers are highly trained to support everyone’s needs and are onsite 24 hours a day with awake overnight supervision.

At our Adult Family Home, we believe independence starts with opportunity — and in today’s world, technology skills are essential for everyday life, communication, learning, employment, and self-advocacy.

Today was an exciting day for our residents as they each received laptops through the incredible Techquity initiative! We are committed to helping our residents build confidence, independence, and real-world skills that empower them to thrive in their communities.

A very special thank you to Ashauntee, Family Services Association for visiting our home, taking the time to get everyone set up, and making this experience so positive and encouraging for our residents. Your patience and support meant so much.

We are also deeply grateful to the Techquity initiative for recognizing the importance of digital inclusion and helping bridge the technology gap for individuals who deserve every opportunity to succeed.

This is more than just receiving laptops — it’s opening doors to learning, connection, growth, and independence. 💻❤️

KANDU Industries is encouraging our community to help support the Restoration of Employment Choice for Adults with Disabilities Act.

This proposed legislation seeks to restore employment choice for young adults with disabilities ages 18–25 by addressing barriers that have limited access to supportive employment environments and services like KANDU. While many individuals thrive in community employment, others benefit from supportive work settings that provide additional structure, training, supervision, and opportunities to build confidence and skills at their own pace.

Supporters believe employment should not be one-size-fits-all. Individuals with disabilities and their families should have the ability to choose the employment pathway that best matches their unique abilities, goals, and support needs.

Supporters across the country are being asked to submit:
• A short quote of support
• A brief letter of support

Whether you are a family member, caregiver, advocate, employer, community partner, or someone who believes individuals with disabilities deserve meaningful choices and opportunities, your voice matters.
