Eid al-Adha, also known as the “Festival of Sacrifice,” is an important Islamic holiday that honors the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to demonstrate his faith through sacrifice. It is a time of reflection, generosity, and community, with many celebrating by sharing meals, giving to those in need, and spending time with loved ones. Wishing a blessed and meaningful Eid al-Adha to all who observe.

Stigma can be one of the biggest barriers to seeking support.

During Mental Health Awareness Month, we encourage open conversations and greater awareness around mental health and trauma recovery. Public awareness efforts play a critical role in helping individuals feel safe, supported, and understood.

Reducing stigma means:
✔️ Talking openly about mental health
✔️ Challenging harmful stereotypes
✔️ Promoting trauma-informed approaches
✔️ Encouraging help-seeking without fear or shame

At Family Services, we believe that awareness leads to understanding—and understanding leads to action.

Together, we can create a community where mental health is prioritized and everyone feels supported in their healing journey. 💙

Memorial Day is a time to honor and remember the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. It’s also an opportunity to recognize the contributions of all veterans, many of whom continue to serve our communities in important ways. Across the nation, countless veterans face challenges such as access to healthcare, housing, and support services—reminding us that our gratitude is strengthened when we also work to support those who have served.

This April, we’re highlighting mental health and trauma recovery by spotlighting our therapy department. We currently have immediate openings for clients with Alliance and Prairie States insurance — a great option for many city and school district employees.

We also offer sliding‑scale, self‑pay openings for individuals (13+) and couples.

Our therapists support clients working through PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and major life transitions.

We’ve also proposed an anxiety group and mindfulness workshop for this summer. Stay tuned for updates.

If you’ve been thinking about starting therapy, this may be the right time to reach out. Healing begins with one step.
