🚨 One Week Away! 🚨

DJ Daniel will be "On Your Bumper" in Parkersburg, West Virginia

On Friday, September 12th, the Parkersburg Police Department will proudly welcome 13-year-old Devarjaye “DJ” Daniel as an honorary officer during a special Swearing-In Ceremony at 11:00 a.m. in City Park.

That evening, head downtown for a free community concert as The Chris Darlington Band brings their “On Your Bumper Tour” to the Point Park Amphitheatre at 7:00 p.m. DJ will be signing autographs and taking pictures.

DJ’s story of courage has inspired more than 1,000 law enforcement agencies, and now he’s joining our family right here in Parkersburg. 💙

We’re honored to be joined by agencies from across West Virginia, including:
✅ WV State Police
✅ Wood County Sheriff’s Office
✅ Summers County Sheriff’s Office
✅ Beckley PD
✅ South Charleston PD
✅ Mercer County Sheriff’s Office
✅ St. Albans PD

Both events are FREE and open to the public. Let’s pack the park and show DJ the strength, unity, and heart of our community!

It is with sadness today that we share the City of Belpre EMS lost a very early dedicated paramedic today to his fight with cancer. Sean Irick was a mentor to many in this profession and having known sean for many years he was a great person on and off the rig and one heck of a medic in action. Prayers to the irick family in the days ahead.

City of Belpre EMS Paramedics and Medical director train on new hand held ultra sound machine that will be used to assist with those hard intravenous access sites. This was funded with the Ohio EMS Grant

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of one of our EMTs David “Paps” Reuse.

David served with City of Belpre EMS Inc. from the very beginning of operations while also serving as an EMT/FF for many departments and agencies within the county and was a retired Cleveland cop.

During his time with the company he was always eager to step up, learn, and take initiative. If there was an event to work or a shift to cover he was there even despite receiving cancer treatments and manage many hurdles.

David truly was “Paps” to every person working and involved with the company. He was the definition of what being a first responder is supposed to be. We ask you keep all his family and friends, including those within his first responder community, in your thoughts.

Paps, we will take it from here.

City of Belpre EMS hosted this great event for the areas dirt track safety team. Every year these guys come together to train and work hard in hopes their never needed on the track. This year is a little more exciting as one of our own has a new racer starting this year in a mini wedge. He had to get in on the action and help everyone. Several thanks to the areas first responders that make up this team but also those that make it possible.

Unit 490 is in service and answering calls in the city, here it makes its first response with the one only Dave Reuse "paps", paps asked to take the 1st response and we were all for it. Thanks again to everyone that made this possible.

Huge thing happened here at City of Belpre EMS this new year. We took ownership of a new 2024 ambulance. This will replace the oldest truck in the fleet unit 490 which was a 2006. This asset to the city is HUGE and those that made this happen thank you alone isn't enough. All the city council that all voted to replace, those that have a seat on the EMS board Lyndsay Dennis, Susan Abdella, Stephanie-Joe Kirby. The EMS board and city council saw a need and actions took place, "working together to better serve you" has been our mission. Hoping to have the final touches in the coming week and put into service. If you see this out know we're here to better serve you and your family. Thank you again to everyone that's made this possible. Truck will be on display Monday night at the city council meeting please swing by and see what your dollars are doing for the city.
